cheekycharly Posted December 15, 2022 Author Posted December 15, 2022 We've just changed from our old OVS licencing to EES via the Chest agreement (which reduces the minimum EQU staff requirement) and get Enterprise Mobility + Security E3 as part of our Office 365 A3 for faculty licence. We now also have Intune, conditional MFA etc, but still keep the benefit of OVS licencing in terms of the desktops and Office Pro. Horrendously complicated to understand but I used Pugh Computers following other recommendations here, one of the suppliers on the framework who were very helpful at understanding it all. We actually saved £1500 per year as against our old OVS licence. The above highlighted license is that just for Staff or can you use that for Students as well?
Mr.Ben Posted December 15, 2022 Posted December 15, 2022 The Chest framework includes Student benefit licensing at a 32 students to 1 staff licence ratio I believe. 1
cheekycharly Posted December 15, 2022 Author Posted December 15, 2022 (edited) I just tried registering on the chest website but our school is not listed. No idea how that system works to be honest. From what i'm reading its for larger schools. We only have 75 Students across two sites and a 3rd site being built bringing us to roughly 110 students so pretty small. cheekycharly Posted December 16, 2022 Author Posted December 16, 2022 Yes for both. Enterprise Mobility + Security E3 - £1.28 Enterprise Mobility + Security E5 - £2.14 I recommend selecting a CSP for your O365 tenant then you can browse these as much as you want. There is no commitment required to do this and you don't have to provide them with any level of access. Hey IT_JB who was your reseller? (did you mention already?). If it is someone local to you no worries but if its someone reputable and mainstream then please could you share with me. I have been on the following website and I can get a 90day trial of this which I think upgrades Azure and includes the Intune for MDM. https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/microsoft-365/enterprise-mobility-security/compare-plans-and-pricing Looking at taking the trial out once we return from the Christmas holidays.
KK20 Posted December 16, 2022 Posted December 16, 2022 I can recommend John Levis at VeryPC too, they will work with you. Not connected in any way, we moved to them this year John is active on here. 1

cheekycharly Posted February 3, 2023 Author Posted February 3, 2023 (edited) I did drop softcat a message on their online form but heard nothing back from them in over 3weeks now. Strange. UPDATE: Think I am going the wrong way around this... Do I just need to go to https://appsource.microsoft.com/ Find softcat in there and reach out to them from that? cheekycharly Posted March 1, 2023 Author Posted March 1, 2023 [h=1]Softcat Plc. was unavailable to accept your referral[/h]IT, Thanks for your request to have Softcat Plc. accept your referral. Unfortunately, the Microsoft Partner you selected isn’t available to help right now. However, we have many other Microsoft Partners who offer similar solutions to Softcat Plc.. Search for another Microsoft Partner here. Does unavailable mean they don't want the business or just that they haven't jumped on the referral from M$?
IT_JB Posted March 1, 2023 Posted March 1, 2023 Probably the latter, if you PM me your contact details I can connect you with my account manager at softcat.
