[21h2] Problem for some users getting printers

Hi all,

 

Upgraded the machines during the summer to 21H2 from 1908 and weirdly a number of staff don't get the printers assigned to them from Group Policy. Print Server is on 2012 R2.

 

Other users in the same OU get the GP deployed printers. Deleted appdata, profiles, settings packages and still nothing.

 

Really stumping me this one.

Try and find out if it's a user or computer issue.

 

Can you connect to the same printer from another account on the affected computer and does it connect for the affected account from another computer?

 

Event viewer should give some hints to where the issue is.

Could this be because of the print nightmare 'fix' that Microaoft did a while back. It blocks install of drivers from a print server due to unfixable security vulnerabilities. There is a reg key/gpo work around. If the computers were running that old a version it may not have got that patch till they were upgraded.

Thanks for the replies, surely if it was Print nightmare it would effect all users not just a handful? It does seem to follow the user though by the looks of it.
