I'd certainly watch it, although I can't imagine it capturing the feeling that you get playing the games!

 

This is true of any TV show based on a game or a book, I guess. More so for games - you have a certain amount of 'headcannon' for things you read or see described in the Game. You have a certain way your Sole Survivor or Lone Wanderer will behave that feel 'right' to you and the moment the character on the TV does something different it breaks the spell a bit. I think this was true of the original Reacher films with Tom Cruise as Reacher - he looked nothing like how the character was described in the books and this broke the spell for so many fans.

 

One way or another, I'm looking forward to finding out about this one.

It will be interesting to see where they take it. An episode of rifling through every drawer, box, pile and fridge to find bottle caps may not be the most riveting viewing.

im hoping it'll do well. I dont want it to end up like the AC movie

 

 

I feel like the only person around who actually liked that film. Was quite excited because of the director and I didn't feel like it disappointed, then I got home and read reviews...

Re: Your avatar - I didn't think Johnny Mnemonic was as bad as people make out, though. OTH I saw it on release and a rewatch might change my mind.

I love Johnny Mnemonic, cheese and all. I'm a huge Burning Chrome/Neuromancer fan so that helps haha

This first scene from FALLOUT that finds Lucy (Ella Purnell) at odds with The Ghoul (Walton Goggins), a little out of her depth attempting to address a Wasteland conflict using Vault Dweller tactics. As her efforts to de-escalate the situation fail and tensions arise, Lucy finds additional support from a member of the Brotherhood of Steel. All episodes of FALLOUT arrive April 11th on Prime Video.

As a Fallout fan, I was not expecting much from this series - I was thinking more of an "Adventures in the wasteland" kind of thing. However, I'm pleased to report that it was so much more than that and I loved it. My partner and I watched it all from start to finish yesterday because we couldn't stop watching, and she liked it too - She was quickly on Fallout wiki to see other Vaults' intended purposes.

 

I definitely recommend, even if you've never touched a Fallout game!

I was hooked after 20 mins. A lot of thought and care has gone into this production and the attention to detail is fantastic.

I'd say it's possibly the best screen adaptation of a video game yet, and is going to be a benchmark for future adaptations.

I agree! With the possible exception of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, although being animated that's a bit easier to get the right look and feel. Fallout however is exceptional. Yes a lot is CG, but it has clearly been done by people involved with or have spent a LOT of time in game. It's good enough that you could easily recreate the entire set in Fallout 4 settlements.

I'm 4 in so far and absolutely feel like I've just put in another 100 hours into FO4, but the influence from the entire series is clear to see. There's a level of unexpected humour which is pretty much on par with the games - cousins and chickens, enough said there!

Character wise - spot on. Lucy is extremely likeable and relatable and you can see the naivety you would expect from a vault dweller. The ghoul is absolutely awesome and the BoS just feels "right". I'm getting slight stormtrooper/Finn vibes from Maximus and not in any negative way.

Thoroughly enjoyable!

What are peoples thoughts on S2? Think it's just gotten better and better, absolutely adore the attention to detail and it's the first series in a long time that's actually got me gripped waiting for the next episode.

Quite enjoying it. 8.5/10, people should watch it 

 

Most the criticisms I have, & most of the good faith criticisms others have all seem to be in a huge part caused by the 8 episode seasons.

Too Much to do in too little time.

Like EP 6 Was quite weak, but would have been a great middle season episode in a full 24 Ep Season 

 

Not sure how i feel about the weekly releases
