Dos_Box Posted June 10, 2022 Posted June 10, 2022 Given that most streaming platforms now offer a version of Watch Party, would anyone be interested in this as I feel there are a lot of hidden gems out there that would make for some great viewing. Anyone up for this, for perhaps one night a week? 2
DalekSec Posted June 10, 2022 Posted June 10, 2022 Probably cant do it weekly but i could do it once a month! 1
Dos_Box Posted June 10, 2022 Author Posted June 10, 2022 Probably cant do it weekly but i could do it once a month! Once a month could be a better bet actually. Let's see what demand is like and then take it from there.
hardtailstar Posted June 10, 2022 Posted June 10, 2022 Possibly but different streaming service each time so those of us that only have one can join in? 2
LeMarchand Posted June 10, 2022 Posted June 10, 2022 Sounds great, but I doubt I'd have the time to spare (one of the reasons I don't do any online gaming). You should let people know what you're going for and when each time as there are probably others like me who like the idea but might only be able to make the odd one or two. 1
Dos_Box Posted June 10, 2022 Author Posted June 10, 2022 Rotating the service and well published schedules will be a good idea. Thanks for the suggestions everyone and keep 'em coming. 1
Dos_Box Posted June 10, 2022 Author Posted June 10, 2022 One question that comes to mind is week days or weekends? I think week days would be better, but I'll leave it up to you all.
bald_pig Posted June 10, 2022 Posted June 10, 2022 I'd be interested, weekdays are probably best for me at least. 1
Dos_Box Posted June 20, 2022 Author Posted June 20, 2022 Getting back to this, What day of the week would work best for most? I'm thinking about Thursday evenings as a nice way to slide into the weekend. It may be I'll have to create a new thread with a poll to see what suits most and what platforms (Netflix, Amazon etc.) you are all using.
bald_pig Posted June 20, 2022 Posted June 20, 2022 Wednesday's would be my best night I think, Thursdays are a no for me though usually 1
JJonas Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 I like this idea. I bought a Quest 2 at the start of the year so Bigscreen could be an option if enough people have VR headsets 1
Dos_Box Posted June 21, 2022 Author Posted June 21, 2022 I'm thinking of starting us off on The Man From Earth (if you have Amazon Prime that is). An amazing low budget film with an ensamble cast who you will at least recognise, if not be able to name - https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/the_man_from_earth It was shot in only 8 days (with a week rehersals) and it does show in places, however, the underlying story is gripping. What would you say to someone who claims to be 14,000 years old? At 89 mins runtime I think this would be a great way to start off, but I should warn you, it's a very marmite movie. Personally, I love it! Oh, and the trailer isn't very good
