Google Classroom assigned work section blurred out
elfdaughter replied to elfdaughter's topic in Cloud Services
I'm really interested in how he's managing to use it normally when I set up a Classroom for him, if that's true! I'm planning to bring the teacher in for a chat to go over all her permissions just to be sure. It doesn't seem like it's a lack of access to the shared drive, unless she's sharing it with individual students instead of following our usual whole school policy. But it’s definitely something worth looking into! -

Ooh, that's leading me down an unexplored path... thanks! I'll get the teacher back in and do some investigations on that side of things. -
Hi all, need the hivemind's help here. We have one student who seems to be unable to turn in work for one single classroom that he's in. (the 'turn in' area is just blurred out for him) I've added him to a test classroom, assigned him a document, and he's able to see and turn in work there, but not in this classroom that this teacher has set up. We've done all the usual, cleared the cache, made sure his browser and chromebook are up to date, I've removed him from the classroom and re-added him back into it, he's tested it on a different device and through incognito mode. I've seen a number of posts online saying the same thing, but no-one seems to have found a fix for it. Anyone got any ideas?

Is Christmas the best time of year to be working in IT?
elfdaughter replied to verysmartbenn's topic in General Chat
Exactly!!! -
Scared myself a few weeks ago when I got on the scales and was the heaviest I've ever been - absolutely going to be diving back into my VR version of Les Mills Bodycombat tonight, and making it a regular routine. It's great for working up a sweat and trying to burn up those calories!

For me, I'm REALLY looking forward to Christmas, and seeing how it works in my office. I'm fresh out of retail, and this is my first Christmas outside of that hell-hole in about 15 years. Aside from anything else, I get a week off while the school is closed!! Beats finishing at 5:30pm on Christmas Eve and back into store at 8am on Boxing day!!! I can actually spend time with family this year and relax. -
As long as it isn't heavy metal, or he'll be singing for his supper.

I'm back home safe after an INCREDIBLE two week safari in Africa (week-old lion cubs, painted wolves, hyena, zebra, cheetah, leopard - even saw a Serval and had a camp visit from a honey badger!) -

Soooooo. Rings of Power is out. No spoilers from me. I've watched the first episode and started the second, but I'll have to watch the rest after work. Initial thoughts.... Fantastic set design. Gorgeous music (not surprising, given Howard Shore was involved, even if it was only for the main title). Costuming....questionable to bad, but forgivable as it's consistently questionable to bad for each character... As for the rest - well, I can't blame the actors, they're doing what they can with the script they're given. I like Nori, I hope she will be a main character. But the script. Oh, the script. It's everything we were worried about and more. Galadriel is turned into some sort of MarySue character with a Karen complex. Now, obviously I've not finished watching both episodes, and the first episode of any new series is always a bit questionable, so I will give it a few more episodes before I make my final decision on it, but yeah - that's my opinion on it so far. -

Oh, I LOVED the BBC adaptation! Used to listen to it in the car on the way to and from my grandparents (they lived about 100 miles away and we used to go and visit during school holidays). And yes, Looking forward to watching Sandman, that's on my list too! -

As a hardcore Tolkien fan, I have a lot of concerns. Yes, the locations look amazing, some of the visuals are fantastic - I'm a little concerned at what the plotline is, and treatment of some of the characters appears.... more than a little sus. Some of the interviews from the cast and crew set my teeth on edge.... I am reserving judgement until I see it - I'm being cautiously optimistic, but also not holding my expectations too high.
