Hi

For some exam laptops, I need to turn off Spell Check in Office 2019.

As far as I can see this is no longer possible.

Has anyone managed to do this ?

Thanks

I currently use Office 2021 for exams and my GPO for exam users works well, no spell check, auto capitalisation etc. If you still need help with this I'll share my policy with you so you can test it.

We use this to disable spellcheck (we're using Office 365 now, but it worked on 2019 as well), but for users rather than machines. It would be good to see if celliottadmin has something better.

I've shared my policy to the OP via a message. I've attached some images of the basis of the policy, if you want to see the full policy I'll send you the link to view it.

Do any of these settings stop the user from manually enabling them again?

I've got the same settings but found they are not greyed out settings so students can still tick enable spell checks etc

Perfect. Only thing I can't seem to restrict is users going through 'Review > Language > Language Preferences' which allows them to tick\untick settings again.

I might have a conflicting setting somewhere but have you managed to restrict this too?

Thanks.

I've already been through the 2016 thread and rechecked the settings.

Bit stuck as they school want to use MS Word 'usual way of working'

The Policy linked above is working on Office 2021 LTSC with no issues.

I have tested with Office 16 - 19 also and had no issues and it complies with exam requirements.

Word 2016: When clicking 'Save As' choosing 'save options' under the tools drop down menu allows users to enable all the proofing options. Still looking into how to patch this unless anyone knows?
