Jaan Posted April 5, 2022 Posted April 5, 2022 Anybody else into Sim Racing? I like to play Assetto Corsa, Assetto Corsa Composizione, iRacing and a little Dirt when not poking the Servers with a dirty stick! I play in both VR and on a single Screen. I love the nordschleife. Here's my setup. I've also made alittle youtube channel. (shameless plug) I've been nursing a hardware issue which have prevented me from doing any more videos.... however that's sorted now so will be starting again next week (My Easter holiday). If you have an interest, it would be great if you Liked, Subscribed or even Commented. I'd really appreciate it! See you on the virtual track edugeek friends! BTCC Volvo at the Ring Mini Cup Race at Oulton PArk in VR...... NOt much talking on this one
bald_pig Posted April 5, 2022 Posted April 5, 2022 There are a couple of us who race on the discord, but it's usually more Wreckfest, F1 and Dirt! I'd like to drive more consistently but don't have the time. 1
tmoon-mint Posted April 6, 2022 Posted April 6, 2022 My setup is pretty basic with a Playseat and Logitech G29. Mainly Gran Turismo 7 and F1 2021.
Ironside Posted April 6, 2022 Posted April 6, 2022 Not really a sim racer but I do play Gran Turismo 7 and F1 2021 on PS5 with a controller.
DalekSec Posted April 6, 2022 Posted April 6, 2022 Used to have a Rift and play Dirt.. in till i flipped my Stratos and nearly puked... 1
timbo343 Posted April 6, 2022 Posted April 6, 2022 Used to play the F1 series but lost interest and sold the Logitec wheel and pedals a few years go. Bought Wreckfest at xmas, have assetto corsa and rocket league though but use a pad for these.
JamieK97 Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 I've just reinvested in a new Thrustmaster setup in wait for the new f1. Not sure how it's going to be considering Codemasters have been bought out by EA. Anyone else got any thoughts on this?
Boredguy Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 Preview footage looks ok, and believe it's still the same core Codemaster team that have done it even though it's part of EA. Really should dust down my Thrustmaster T300 as it's not had much use the last few years
jthompson Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 Used to love racing sims, but it doesn't really fit into my home life any longer. I'd have killed for a rig like that though! Wow. rFactor and the Simbin titles about a decade or so ago were ones I was quite into when I had a wheel, as well as the Microprose Grand Prix and Papyrus titles from the 90's. I've not played many recent titles, but am willing to bet that Richard Burns Rally is yet to be bettered as a rally sim. Any games I do play now are just going to be dipping in and out on the Xbox with a gamepad . WRC series (good but still not beating RBR imho), Project Cars and IOMTT (that's a special one).
tmoon-mint Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 (edited) I've just reinvested in a new Thrustmaster setup in wait for the new f1. Not sure how it's going to be considering Codemasters have been bought out by EA. Anyone else got any thoughts on this? Unfortunately we won’t know how badly EA have impacted the game until after release when all the reviews are out. This is usually when they add in all the micro transactions. F1 life looks like a gold mine for monetisation. I will likely still be getting it I just don’t agree with the business model at all. With the announcement from the FIA recently and the disappointment that is GT7 I will likely be moving to Assetto Corsa Competizione for my sim racing fix. Edited June 21, 2022 by tmoon-mint
RedwayNetworks_Michael Posted January 11, 2023 Posted January 11, 2023 I know this is an old thread now but ive just recently got myself into Sim Racing. Bought the boy a wheel and pedals for christmas and i thought it was so good i went and bought myself a setup haha. I dont have much space at home for a full rig so went with the Playseat Challenge as it folds away nicely when the Mrs is around For my serious racing i play Assetto Corsa Competizone, i love my drifting so i play CarX drift for that (so hard) and then for fun i play some wreckfest and also Nascar. WRC is another i will be playing but still trying to work out if WRC generations is worth getting over WRC 10 I play on PS4,

RedwayNetworks_Michael Posted January 11, 2023 Posted January 11, 2023 Wreckfest is the closest we have ever got to the original destruction Derby back in the day
Jaan Posted January 12, 2023 Author Posted January 12, 2023 Replacing my logitech (true brake modded) pedals (see first post) with these SIMForge pedals: coming any day now woohoo 1
DeGrimmy Posted January 12, 2023 Posted January 12, 2023 I love a good racing game - Any Forza Motorsport/Horizon games, Dirt Rally, Test Drive Unlimited back in the day. However, I wouldn't consider myself a sim racer, as I've never owned a racing wheel. I've always used my trusty Xbox controller! 1

That's how it all starts! 26 years ago i started on Gran turismo on the PSX (or playstation 1) with the 'new' dualshock controller. Now my setup is worth more than my real car!...... but still cheaper than real racing...... and i get the pause for toilets breaks and restart if i bend the car Although i did dislocate my thumb on it last year! 1
Bompalompalomp Posted January 12, 2023 Posted January 12, 2023 Got a G29 and accs for Christmas, so finally my Euro Truck setup feels right! I've also been enjoying Forza Horizon, though since my name is uncommon I just can't get used to the game actually saying it out loud correctly!
