Does anyone know if HP resellers are getting special deals on selling switches? I've asked for workstation quotes and one supplie keeps trying to convince me that we need our Procurve switches upgrading even though we don't have a network speed issue. I can only assume that he is targetted on selling switches.

If the sales pitch is totally irrelevant for what im asking for i'd politely decline regardless of the price and go to another company!

Its the latest HP Push I think, had a few calls myself about it, and I keep saying I'm Netgear im fine Being a Netgear Partner myself means I know whens a good time to by and what offer the supplier is getting to try and flog me them hehe

Sounds like HP are trying to shift old stock before they release a new model.

Cisco do this quite often.

I got a cold call about looking at 'upgrading my networks'. Wasn't the best of sales persons he seemed very nervous! I wasn't nasty to him because of his nervousness, he's a lucky one that escaped in my moment of weakness!
