Taken as a list of possibles rather than a betting list... Quite a few I'd say are too old (I hoped for Colin Salmon pre-Craig), too female (the end credits specified JAMES Bond will return, not 007) or too American (that said John David Washington basically played Bond in Tenet). Surprised Ben Barnes is so low as he can do cruel as well as dashing and Claes Bang ought to be higher, too. Some of those names would only work if the were remaking Casino Royale...the 1967 version (Robert Sheehan) or going full Roger Moore (Tom Ellis).

No Alan Carr?

The William Hill page said "Others On Request"

I guess his odds, and that of many others, were considered to be longer than 1000/1.

Richard Armitage would be a good shout!

50. Would be at least 53 for the first film and 60 by a third.

Guys, you're going to be upset about this. I am as much as anyone... but the next Bond might have to had been born in the late 80s... or even the EARLY 90s!!:shocked::shocked::scared:

Chiwetel Ejiofor would be a good choice I think - he has the "dashing" part down quite well I think and he could certainly do the physical bits when he played the Operative in Serenity.

/edit Good God, Serenity was 17 years ago! How has that happened?

Claes Bang is 55 this year.

Really? I assumed that as he was "up and coming" he was younger. Yeah, strike him out - too old.

I quite like the idea of Henry Golding as it would both annoy the "Bond must be white" crowd and the "Bond should be black" crowd.

If it is Rege-Jean Page, I hope that it will spark an interest in his back catalogue and Mortal Engines will finally get some love. His Dark Materials managed to get a TV adaptation that will cover all the books - maybe one day Mortal Engines will. I feel robbed that we'll never get "A Darkling Plain".

I wonder how long before they can just deep fake Sean Connery back into the role.

Voice copying is the issue still (though they did synthesise young Luke for Mandolorian Season 2...). Without any spoilers, last night I watched a very enjoyable film that came out at the end of last year, and whilst a little uncanny still (though the character being ethereal helped) they really have come a long way from the digitally recreated human characters in Rogue One, and just about bested Rachel in Blade Runner 2049.
