Ditto Posted November 26, 2021 Posted November 26, 2021 A Chromecast with Google TV Dongle Did you get the one with the 6 months Netflix included. I bought one of these for my mum about 6 months ago and we stumbled on activating it, so need to look at again soon.
ICTDirect_Dave Posted November 26, 2021 Posted November 26, 2021 Im looking for a TV around 40- 43" if anyone sees any deals. I just bought this from Amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08ZNMT5BY It's the cheapest it's been, had good reviews and if Amazon reduce it further this weekend I can hassle them to refund the difference 1

Koldov Posted November 26, 2021 Posted November 26, 2021 (edited) TL;DR - Creative GigaWorks T40 Series II speakers... Amazon = £109.99 / Creative Store = £84.99 Just a reminder to be aware even though it has been posted earlier... Really have to be careful and try to stop the 'Amazon Black Friday' craziness as I've been looking for a decent price drop on these for a while (actually for so long there are probably better options now)... https://www.amazon.co.uk/GigaWorks-Multimedia-Audiophile-Configuration-Technology/dp/B001IZZ2PO/ref=sr_1_9?keywords=creative+speakers&qid=1637935210&s=electronics&sr=1-9 but... https://uk.creative.com/p/speakers/gigaworks-t40-series-ii Edited November 26, 2021 by Koldov 1

Ditto Posted November 29, 2021 Posted November 29, 2021 Agreed with the current price of about £600. At the time it was 40% off so nearer £350.
JoeRogue Posted November 29, 2021 Posted November 29, 2021 Not sure if anyone is interested but I was looking for a Google nest camera and a new Hub, nearly got direct from the Google Store but Currys are doing them both £10 cheaper!
LeMarchand Posted November 29, 2021 Posted November 29, 2021 Agreed with the current price of about £600. At the time it was 40% off so nearer £350. Re the Streams, I've managed to get W10 on them OK. Haven't bothered to try 11 though.

It's currently on 1607, and is running out of space trying to get to 20H2. I've deleted pretty much every app, and as W10 asked, plugged in a massive USB drive to help, but it still bombs. Current freespace is reporting just under 7Gb. I'm thinking ISO install next, but open to other ideas.

Pretty sure it took 20H2 EDU (which doesn't seem to install so much rubbish) but that was a "wipe everything and start from scratch" way. Still not much spare space left, but if it's just for Minecraft it may be enough. 1

Installed from a key using the "start from scratch" method, but it would only take the x64 version. As I saw it had TPM, I also tried W11 for a laugh. The pictures below are from shortly after login, so there may be less disk space after updates etc. Forgot to check W10 devices (but I'm sure I have got them all working previously). W11 is currently downloading updates/drivers, but it looks hopeful. Tl;dr: Worth a punt and cheaper than a new machine. 1

Agreed, sounds worth a punt! I'll have to go with Windows Home Edition. The user has a digital license allegedly linked to a MS account so I'm waiting to check they do, but presumably it should be fine as an OEM hardware linked activation?

That machine would originally have been W8(?) Home, but subsequently imaged (and activated) as 8.1 ENT. The ISO was the standard MCT "All Editions" one, but it didn't give any choice, just automatically installed the original Home version which successfully activated - so it shouldn't have a problem.
