andy_b Posted May 27, 2022 Posted May 27, 2022 Annoyingly my own monitoring didn't inform me... Inbound is working and I can ping out so they reported everything fine
Sonic007 Posted May 27, 2022 Posted May 27, 2022 We were back up. Seems up and down. Hopefully not long before things are sorted.
SchoolsBroadband Posted May 27, 2022 Posted May 27, 2022 Morning folks, the issue is now resolved. We have numerous Fortinet WAFs protecting our Netsweeper clusters for all HTTP and HTTPS traffic. Something happened to one ot these. We've done diag dumps and these will be sent off to Fortinet to figure out why the firewall did what it did. The decision was taken to reboot the firewall as normal commands were not having an impact. The Fortigate firewalls have been extremely reliable since we installed them some 7-8 years ago (i can only recall one other issue relating to a software upgrade) so we're very surprised this issue occured. Please watch out for an RFO that will be sent via the hub as usual. Thank you for your patience. Dave 1
Sonic007 Posted May 27, 2022 Posted May 27, 2022 Good news. We are back up too. Happy Friday everyone! I need to be taken to the pub immediately now to relax. 2
mrgrey83 Posted May 30, 2022 Posted May 30, 2022 Since the outage on the 27th May we have experienced reduced download speeds, in our case we are only getting one-third of our normal download speed. upload speed has been not been affected. It feels like the download has been traffic managed since the firewall issue happened.

Please do give the team a call and they'll investigate for you. I haven't seen any other speed related issues so hopefully this isn't a trend but please do log and we'll investigate. Dave
mrgrey83 Posted May 30, 2022 Posted May 30, 2022 Hi Dave, The issue was logged on Friday and has been chased today as the issue hasn't been resolved over the weekend, hopefully it will be resolved soon. The helpdesk team tell me it's with third line support, but yet to receive an update. 1
cullingsh Posted May 30, 2022 Posted May 30, 2022 Please watch out for an RFO that will be sent via the hub as usual. This, as far as I can tell (I've checked emails and The Hub) hasn't been posted. I would quite like some feedback please that I can pass on to the schools before they come back next week as I know a lot had the start of the day disrupted last week. 1

All RFO's are sent out within 5 working days of the event. I suspect though it will be sent out tomorrow due to the bank holiday. Thanks Dave
