Dos_Box Posted August 17, 2021 Posted August 17, 2021 During a chat with the mods yesterday afternoon I mentioned that I had never played Monkey Island but it was on my gaming bucket list. Until this point I hadn't really realised I had a list of games in my head I still hadn't played yet, but always meant too and I thought it might be fun if we shared each others unlayed games. So in no particular order, here are the top 5 on my list: 1. Monkey Island 2. Any Witcher game 3. Among Us 4. Grim Fandango 5. Star Wars KOTOR The sad thing is, I actually own most of these. I blame Steam sales!
DeGrimmy Posted August 17, 2021 Posted August 17, 2021 For me, I reckon I should probably give any Zelda game a proper shake and complete it. I had Skyward Sword on Wii but lost interest. I have a Switch now which I rarely use, and I know that Breath of the Wild is meant to be a good one, I've just not bought it... You could probably add several Nintendo titles that I've never played! One day, I'll actually try to finish off Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus and Doom: Eternal. I've tried playing both a couple of times and I just end up falling out of them each time. I've never owned a Playstation, so there are many games I've never tried from that platform...

You're right about the console titles, given the sheer volume of classics in there I often blank when trying to think of ones I'd really want to play. I've never played any Zelda games, and have missed out on many Mario titles too. Edited August 17, 2021 by Dos_Box
LeMarchand Posted August 17, 2021 Posted August 17, 2021 I also own most, if not all, of these... 5: Fall Out Series 4: Half Life Series 3: Monkey Island Series 2: Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura (started, but that was 2 or 3 PCs ago) 1: Final Fantasy Series (story ones, not the MMORPGs or various spin offs) in order

Heretic!
ICTDirect_Dave Posted August 17, 2021 Posted August 17, 2021 1. Monkey Island 2. Any Witcher game 3. Among Us 4. Grim Fandango 5. Star Wars KOTOR There's some quite glaring gaps in your gaming upbringing there. Kotor is available on Mobile now so you've no excuse Okay. Mine... The modern Doom games. I've played none of them and it shames me. Half Life 2. I don't know why either. I Loved Half Life. Any MMORPG. In theory this kind of game is right up my street, but it turns out that I just don't like people enough to want to join in. Any Gears of War. They always look good but I've never gotten around to them. Anything playstation exclusive PS3 onwards. Can't think of any particular games (which might be a ringing endorsement as to why I've not bought a playstation for decades) but I've intended to get myself some version of a playstation over the years, if only to see how the other side live. But I've never had the willpower.
admars Posted August 17, 2021 Posted August 17, 2021 I only recently played the KOTOR games, and only because they brought some of the characters into Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes (mobile game) and despite being a massive Star Wars fan I had no idea who they were, so got kotor 1 on mobile and it's really good still, and plays very well, apart from swoop bikes, where I had to download a mod. picked up kotor 2 really cheap in steam sale, and it plays nicely on old laptop in windows or Linux in steam There's now a mobile version of that but wasn't when i started and couldn't face starting again as I was so far through it! played the N64 zelda games when I got GameCube and got the Zelda game for that which came with a disk with the n64 games, all were excellent bucket list Skyrim - missus loves it, but I've never got round to it Fallout - as above, don't seem to have time for these games where you need to sit and play for ages to get into it Spider-man PS4 - looks really good, but never got round to it again Bioshock infinite - loved 1 and 2 on PC, got infinite on ps4, but haven't played it, missus loved it Ico, Shadow of the Colossus - I had them both on p3 as part of ps plus, but then the ps3 died after we got ps4, so never played them - there was a lot of games I downloaded with every intention of playing

Oddly enough, SWGOH is the only game where i'm sociable enough to run a guild (although that happened quite by accident). The number of players who didn't know any of the KOTOR stuff was quite high at first. Shame because the stories behind the games are ace. Side bar, not looking for a guild are you? I've a couple of spaces to fill
DeGrimmy Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 I'm not trying to derail the thread to talk specifically about KOTOR, but the games are two of my all-time favourite RPGs and Star Wars games. I think the series is set apart by the fact it's set so long before the events of the films and TV series, and for first-time players, it's a fresh look at an older era of Star Wars. It's thoroughly deserving of a reboot, or at the very least, a remaster - There have been a lot of rumours recently, too. To summarise, it's worth giving a go!
ICTDirect_Dave Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 One of the best games ever IMO and set the groundwork for Bioware to make Mass Effect. Basicaly, if you haven't played it yet, start. Also. A remake is coming: https://www.inverse.com/gaming/kotor-remake-release-date-developer-aspyr-rumors-star-wars-rpg 1

On the other hand, I may need to upgrade my PC first!
ICTDirect_Dave Posted August 18, 2021 Posted August 18, 2021 I'd play the original before they make it all fancy graphics and new mechanics. The original works off of a D20 roleplay system running silently in the background rolling a 'dice' when needed. You see the results as some pretty impressive combat and the best dialogue and character interactions of it's day. 1

GrumbleDook Posted August 20, 2021 Posted August 20, 2021 As much as I love gaming, I don't think I have a bucket list anymore. I've dabbled too much in lots of things to have any real dedication to anything now. I don't even go into WoW anymore. I'll happily update copies of Football Manager, dip into Diablo III for a bit of random slaughter, boot up the Wii for a bit of fun (I do like the Wii version of MoH:H2 ... strange as it is), or play random word stuff on phone/tablet. Occasionally the PS1 or 2 get broken out for a bit of FF7 or 8, Tony Hawk or crazy things like Crash Bandicoot. I've given up having the latest/greatest machines to play games on, preferring to nip onto GOG.com and grab some old games to go through. They might not have the best graphics, but the gameplay/story is sometimes way better. Most of all ... I miss having time to go onto a decent MUD.
fiendishlyclever Posted August 23, 2021 Posted August 23, 2021 I've recently joined Google Stadia. You can easily grab 4 months free (1 month free trial plus a 3 month free code from Lenovo gaming or similar) for the free games I've completed a few games on there, currently playing Doom which is good fun (I bought my first PC to play the original version of Doom, it used to scare the living daylights out of me[emoji23]) I paid £3.75 for Doom - you don't need to subscribe to play games you've paid for (although you only get 4k graphics etc if you pay and access to better deals) Helps that I have FTTP though... (I also enjoyed Star Wars fallen order, also good fun)
Rob_D Posted August 23, 2021 Posted August 23, 2021 I always loved the idea of playing Advent Rising. It looks very much my jam, but I can't quite bring myself to actually install and try it. I'm too scared it will feel rubbish compared to modern games.
LeMarchand Posted August 23, 2021 Posted August 23, 2021 I always loved the idea of playing Advent Rising. It looks very much my jam, but I can't quite bring myself to actually install and try it. I'm too scared it will feel rubbish compared to modern games. I played Little Big Adventure again a while back and still enjoyed it. For me, it's less the gameplay/GFX than how much the story/game involves me. For <£10 I'd say give Advent Rising a go! 1
LeMarchand Posted September 8, 2021 Posted September 8, 2021 (edited) Kotor is available on Mobile now so you've no excuse 1/2 price on Play atm (as well as II). https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aspyr.swkotor https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aspyr.swkotorii Edited September 8, 2021 by LeMarchand 1
LeMarchand Posted September 10, 2021 Posted September 10, 2021 ...that said, those with KOTOR on their list who aren't in imminent danger of leaving us might want to wait a while (or longer, if they aren't Playstation gamers): https://www.denofgeek.com/games/star-wars-kotor-remake-ps5-exclusive-launch/
simpsonj Posted September 10, 2021 Posted September 10, 2021 Final Fantasy 6 (I've bought it 3 times, PS, Vita, SNES Classic, but not finished it, maybe when the pixel remaster is released?) Earthbound Suikoden V

If you do enjoy them, Thimbleweed Park is also a good game created by Ron Gilbert.
mikester1980 Posted January 19, 2022 Posted January 19, 2022 I have 880 games on steam and have only played 300 odd, so pretty much all of them! I want to play some more VR games atm, still haven't completed TWD or Half Life Alyx.
chazzy2501 Posted March 11, 2022 Posted March 11, 2022 Half Life Alyx was on my bucket list but the cost of the hardware was a hard NO. Well I bought a Quest 2 for xmas and a RTX 3050 recently! (phew) Now using oculus airplay I can play... and OMG it is as good as I hoped it was.. I'm so happy, it really is the HL3 we never got. Also: witcher 3,2,1 I own all of them.. conan exiles fallout new vegas and 4 mass effect 1,2,3 last of us, god of war (any) metal gear (any) I bought a PS3 for these...
