Ravi_GreatFind Posted August 11, 2021 Posted August 11, 2021 An exciting new opportunity for an IT Manager to lead a team of multiple support staff and play a pivotal role in our client’s IT department. The role is full time and requires occasional travel. Role Overview The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary of up to £45,000 per annum, 25 days of annual leave (plus bank holidays), NEST pension scheme and opportunities for CPD. You’ll join a passionate ICT team, and report to the IT Director. The ICT Manager will be a leading figure in our client’s ICT team, and will be responsible for a team of support staff. Previous experience of management within ICT in the Education sector is essential Responsibilities: ● Oversee arrangements for securing data, backup procedures, disaster recovery plans and other systems and ensure they are working effectively ● Manage a team of 6 support staff ● Provide desktop and application support ● Ensure an exceptional standard of IT support ● Assist in strategic planning and maintaining network documentation ● Occasionally provide 2nd line support to IT technicians ● Oversee all tickets logged on the help desk, and ensure all documentation is accurately maintained ● Work with SLT and colleagues to ensure our client’s IT strategy enhances the teaching and learning experience ● Manage the our client’s IT support and ensure comprehensive technical support is given to all users ● Communicate with senior stakeholders, internal teams and users to ensure user requirements are met ● Manage resources to ensure services are available when required ● Optimise current systems and operations ● Manage and implement new projects ● Provide advice and training to support engineers and support the Network Manager with the strategic development of IT resources ● Keep on top of technological advances that could benefit our client and advise our client on software choices, learning resources, and development of ICT infrastructure ● Liaise with third party suppliers ● Work with a range of software applications, both standard business applications and more specialist creative software ● Maintain software and hardware asset audits to ensure they are accurate and complete Essential Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge: ● Full and clean UK Driving Licence and use of own vehicle ● Minimum of 5 years experience in the ICT in the Education sector ● Working knowledge of using ICT to support effective teaching and learning ● Server and Network Support Experience ● Management experience ● Troubleshooting experience within ICT ● Excellent working knowledge of ICT hardware use, repair and maintenance ● Good working knowledge of the following: Virtualisation platforms; Office365, G-suite, Azure, AWS management; Microsoft Server Technologies; Active Directory management/Azure AD; networking skills; print management software (Papercut); Desktop Imaging solutions (WDS/MDT/ISO Builds); Backup Systems, Business Continuity; VOIP telephony systems; Desktop software (Microsoft, Chrome & Apple operating systems); Cyber Security, Incident Management, AntiVirus (Sophos); and Windows 10/MacOS/iOS/ChromeOS Person Specification: ● Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with technical and non-technical colleagues and users ● Good numeracy skills ● Ability to prioritise workload and comfortable working to deadlines ● Enthusiastic and full of energy ● Good attention to detail ● Comfortable troubleshooting and problem solving ● Good team player ● An awareness of relevant policies and procedures ● An interest in continued professional development ​Apply or call today!
