Hi, I have got a call in to IAM cloud support and they will probably tell me i have done something wrong - however i may get a quicker answer from you guys.

CDM is working great at school, MSI deployed by GPO and all that.

However when the user goes home-- ie. me at this time-- it doesn't run

its almost s if the GPO isnt installing the application... just running the exe every day. i have rechecked and the GPO is definately pointing to the MSI

anyone have any ideas--

also feel free to move if in the wrong place

so many thanks in advance

I have had an issue before where I would sign in while at home but it wouldn't authenticate. So had a a red line under the icon. I was able to get it working by clearing the iam cloud folder in appdata. After restarting it authenticated.

I have done some testing this morning however for some reason on some machines the msi will not install

i have no idea and have had to install it manually.

via GPO as stated in the manual -- it seems to work on some machines-- but a couple are just being stubborn
Is anything showing in event viewer, for group policy warnings or errors?

Failed to apply changes to software installation settings. The installation of software deployed through Group Policy for this user has been delayed until the next log-on because the changes must be applied before the user log-on. The error was : %%1274

but then I log on again and get the same error - sorry restart.

Computer configuration - i have just tested 3 more machines and all went fine

just mine and 1 other seems to be having issues with the MSi

The only thing that I have found with the error code in event viewer is down to asynchronous processing, where they suggest either making sure you apply Computer Settings -> Administrative Templates -> System -> Logon ->

Always wait for the network at computer startup and logon – Enabled (We have this set in my environment). Or setting a group policy processing wait time in:-

Computer Configuration > Policies > Administrative Templates > System > Group Policy >Startup policy processing wait time.

Like any changes made with group policy, I would suggest testing it in a separate OU before applying to all computers.

Hi,

We tested multiple scenarios over a week to make this as seamless as possible... like I said it just seems to be 1 or 2 specific machines with very specific problems.

We are now doing extra testing with user laptops, tethered to a mobile phone to see if we need to deploy the MSi manually on specific machines.

I would lay money on it being a timeout issue of some sort. We have lengthy 'wait for network' set and also a s'pecify startup policy processing wait time' as most of our software goes out via GPO.
