What is your favourite and worst James Bond movie?

I’m curious to know what you guys favourite and worse movie is?

 

For me I think my favourite is Goldeneye. It’s the movie that got me into the the franchise and I enjoyed the storyline.

Sky fall is a second. I quite like the “back to basic” element.

 

The worst for me has got to be Die Another Day. It was just too unbelievable. “Invisible” cars and laser satellites don’t do it for me.

 

I haven’t seen them all. It is on my to do list. When COVID hit was going to do it but we never had the tight restrictions so I didn’t get the free time I thought I would have.

DAD is the worst for me. Cynical, joyless, silly and now horribly dated. The CGI on that ‘para surfing’ bit!

 

Best? Casino Royale 2006 for me. Followed by much of Connery’s output, Goldeneye and TND, Dalton’s films, then Moore’s. Never watched OHMSS!

I'm gonna go with Casino Royale 2006 for me too. The newer movies are far closer to the books, much more dark and gritty. Followed by Goldfinger. Then Goldeneye.

 

Worst movie? Die Another Day, for sure. Just a bad movie.

No worst, but favourite would be The Spy Who Loved Me. Very much because it was a big deal as a young teenager getting in to Chelmsford Odeon where they had the Lotus Esprit in the foyer. Probably a good watch still if you tune in to the corniness of the era! Great opening scenes - I can remember to this day the cheer when the Union jack parachute opened up and filled the screen.

Worst is 100% die another day. Film was total crap, and the only time in my life i've ever wanted to walk out the cinema.

 

Best.... i've always been a fan of you only live twice and the living daylights, as they were my favourites growing up. Peak super cheesy bond, but great memories.

Worst is probably Question Of Sport, sorry Quantum of Solace.

I love the 60's films after Dr No and some of the 70's ones too, almost more because of the nostalgic time period rather than the films themselves (Though I can't really consider myself nostalgic for that time period since I was born in 1986!)

Bond has to deal with these mysterious things called "computers" and the entire film is about stealing a the equivalent of a USB stick. Yes the new cynical bond is good too (especially after how cheesy the bond films got in the 90's) but there's something rosy and comforting about the old times bond

Not a huge Bond fan, although I've probable seen them all. But Casino Royale is my fav, partly because the company I was running at the time looked after Sony's pre-production kit and we sent them Vaio laptops to use in the film.

I hadn't realized that Die Another Day was so unpopular. I thought I was in a minority.

 

For me Casino Royale was ok but didn't blow me a way. Maybe I wasn't in the right mind set when I first watched it.
