MartinT Posted April 27, 2021 Posted April 27, 2021 CT appear to tick all the boxes so they look very promising for now. Just to confirm, we have gone with CT as our cloud solution. Not only that, but we had need of them a couple of weeks ago in a ransomware attack. I am pleased to say that every VM backed up to CT restored perfectly. I can't give a better reference than that! 1

I am using Veeam Backup Essentials Enterprise. My school purchased perpetual licenses way back in 2016 (£775.91 per 2 socket pack) and now just pay for support/maintenance each year (£455.42 per 2 socket pack). 1

You cannot make assumptions; just because you’re in the UK doesn’t mean a company will store your data somewhere you expect. It is very important to be certain for data protection reasons… and the fines (both personally and for your employer) are massive if you get these things wrong. Your recent posts suggest you aren’t particularly experienced. Please make sure you take the time to find out more about your obligations under data protection and safeguarding law. Guest ZFarnworth Posted January 8, 2022 Posted January 8, 2022 Nope not very experienced, I don't backup user data e.g. Users documents etc. I only backup our data which is the usual network shares that I suspect every school has to a SharePoint online site which Is heavily locked up to pesky students sniffing around. We have an account for accessing the data and that's it. No rules broken I don't think.

sluggster66 Posted October 25, 2022 Posted October 25, 2022 That’s not true. You need to complete a DPIA to risk asses your data. This then needs signing off by stake holders, if the risk is deemed acceptable, then you can proceed. 1
