genesis Posted March 3, 2021 Posted March 3, 2021 Hi For IT support helpdesk we use outlook and we are happy with that .I looking for a helpdesk software exclusively for the Site team , so that staff can raise support calls related to broken table, leaking ceiling, airconditioning etc...... Please post me if you know any suitable software Thanks
CHiLL Posted March 3, 2021 Posted March 3, 2021 I set up our site team with another instance of Spiceworks Cloud. Sure, it's mainly IT focused, but as a free basic helpdesk, it meets their needs. Plus it has AD authentication.
Warwick_Tech Posted March 3, 2021 Posted March 3, 2021 Hi For IT support helpdesk we use outlook and we are happy with that .I looking for a helpdesk software exclusively for the Site team , so that staff can raise support calls related to broken table, leaking ceiling, airconditioning etc...... Please post me if you know any suitable software Thanks I would go for HESK; it's web based (internal) and runs from a raspberry Pi with Apache web server https://www.hesk.com/
TechMonkey Posted March 3, 2021 Posted March 3, 2021 Our site team use the same helpdesk we do. Standardise and consolidate. I guess the question is, if Outlook is good enough for the IT team why isn't it good enough for the site team or vice versa?
Chaniel Posted March 3, 2021 Posted March 3, 2021 I'd just recommend OSTicket, simple to setup, simple to use. I would also recommend you as an IT Department use a ticketing system rather than just outlook, so much better for organisation, searching historical issues, reporting etc. If you both used OS Ticket, you could use the same instance but create different departments with separate incoming emails (e.g. [email protected] and [email protected]) 1
Jamman960 Posted March 3, 2021 Posted March 3, 2021 We're currently using 3 freshdesk instances, IT(paid), Accounts, Maintenance(free) although I plan to bring them all into the same instance with different groups
kingoranks Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 Take a look at google doc, simple to setup https://howtogapps.com/create-an-issue-tracking-system-with-google-form-and-spreadsheet/
Jcx500 Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 OsTicket, We've just moved ourselves and site over to it
supportman Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 We're currently using 3 freshdesk instances, IT(paid), Accounts, Maintenance(free) although I plan to bring them all into the same instance with different groups I really like the look of that, shame no dark mode though. Do you know if they have Office 365 Login single sign on? Looks much nicer than OSticket or our current parago ticket system.
HPlum78 Posted March 12, 2021 Posted March 12, 2021 (edited) https://plumsail.com/sharepoint-helpdesk So the above is a good ticketing system and you can use forms and power apps (flow) to automate tasks like teams creation and such likes. Loads of stuff you can do to stream line stuff here. Not saying that you cannot do this with other (as I have been known to) but it's all in office 365. Edited March 12, 2021 by HPlum78 1
wickit Posted March 22, 2021 Posted March 22, 2021 I have setup a help desk using MS teams with simple list and power automate. Works like a charm
ultraspy2000 Posted March 22, 2021 Posted March 22, 2021 Have you looked into EVERY system? https://www.weareevery.com/compliance_manager/ We're using it our schools for this exact reason and Sites Team is using it very well. Alternatively, you can also create sub-category for IT, HR and others.
Griff Posted March 22, 2021 Posted March 22, 2021 Our site team were using Spiceworks but didn't get on with it. We then moved to Every which they seem to be OK with it. I personally don't like Every from an IT stance maybe for contracts its good but for helpdesk its a no go for me. There is no way of linking it to an email address and I like that users can just email helpdesk@ and it logs a ticket. Every you can only do it via the portal. One I do like is Zendesk and its quite cheap for only a few users. I couldn't justify something paid for though when Spiceworks is free. Also not sure how friendly it would be for a site team.
AM369 Posted March 22, 2021 Posted March 22, 2021 I really like the look of that, shame no dark mode though. Do you know if they have Office 365 Login single sign on? Looks much nicer than OSticket or our current parago ticket system. Been using Freshdesk for our IT, Site and Reprographics teams for around 3 years now. Its clean and easy to set up and use. Compatible with 365 SSO also.
JoeRogue Posted March 22, 2021 Posted March 22, 2021 We've been using Freshdesk here for almost a year and the site team haven't had any issues. They generally work from their mobiles and using the app allows them to easily close/answer tickets.
MartinT Posted March 22, 2021 Posted March 22, 2021 We're currently using 3 freshdesk instances, IT(paid), Accounts, Maintenance(free) although I plan to bring them all into the same instance with different groups Another vote for Freshdesk here, we use it to good effect, forcing all staff to raise tickets by using an e-mail address feeding into it.

DaveA Posted July 1, 2022 Posted July 1, 2022 Another vote for Freshdesk. We use it for our It helpdesk and also for our site team, works very well.
aac Posted July 1, 2022 Posted July 1, 2022 (edited) We use WebHelpdesk, it works very well and is extremely cheap as you pay for each tech license only once. Software updates are a couple of hundred pounds a year. Call Unipress Software as they are the UK dealer for this... Edited July 1, 2022 by aac 1
