Brimstone Posted February 12, 2021 Posted February 12, 2021 Apple have started emailed customers who haven’t yet verified their domains in Apple School Manager, and unless they do so they will not be able to create new Managed Apple ID’s on unverified domains from May 26th 2021. Typically this means that two domains must be verified, if you also have a domain using @appleid.school.sch.uk for your Managed Apple ID's To verify the domain(s), this is the process: Login to Apple School Manager (ASM) Go to Settings > Account > Domains Click verify for your unverified domain Add the provided TXT record to your external DNS records Click on the 'Check Now' button to provoke a lookup for your new TXT record The process will need to be repeated for each domain, more info can be found at; https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/apple-school-manager/apd15d24426c/1/web/1 2
DJ-1701 Posted February 12, 2021 Posted February 12, 2021 To add to Brimstone's report there, you may find you only get 1 email from Apple stating that 1 domain (the appleid.school.sch.uk) needs to be verified, in fact in our case we found the school root domain itself was also was not verified and needed to be done.
MatthewL Posted February 12, 2021 Posted February 12, 2021 Anyone got any contacts for Apple I need to speak to them about this.
Chrisbf1 Posted February 12, 2021 Posted February 12, 2021 Does this affect the usage of the existing accounts, or just new ones you create. we don't give students iTunes accounts and the admin account is just used to purchase app etc
Brimstone Posted February 12, 2021 Author Posted February 12, 2021 Does this affect the usage of the existing accounts, or just new ones you create. we don't give students iTunes accounts and the admin account is just used to purchase app etc You will need to verify the domain you use with ASM, I would check in the instructions given. P.S. Please stop calling accounts in ASM iTunes accounts, they are in no way shape or form iTunes accounts.

Sylv3r Posted February 12, 2021 Posted February 12, 2021 We inherited some setups for primaries from our LA who had created a school gmail account for this purpose... we are now expected to verifiy we own the gmail.com domain ....
MatthewL Posted February 12, 2021 Posted February 12, 2021 Can you not add another account with your domain as another admin i.e. [email protected] we are in a similar situation although we have another domain there. I've been in touch with Apple this afternoon with regards to it for us, will let you know the feedback on Monday when I get back to work.
Cache Posted February 12, 2021 Posted February 12, 2021 If you have another domain, you can remove the gmail domain and then it will prompt you to update the managed apple id to a different domain - email address linked to the account will be the same, just the login will change - we have a different admin account so was willing to risk it.
