My Microsoft account is one of the few that has a rubbish password because of having to use an Xbox controller to enter it and out of all the accounts to have a short, memorable password and no 2fa, this seems like a particularly bad idea...

Jay241 Posted February 11, 2021 Posted February 11, 2021 I use Defender on all my devices. And 1Password is just the bees knees. Really really good. Works across all my devices, in browser and just stores everything. Logins to 2FA keys, and just works without fault. Deffo recommend.
LeMarchand Posted February 11, 2021 Posted February 11, 2021 I used to pay for the premium version as that was the only way to get cross device support (I know that cross device support means trusting someone else with your database, but that seems like a worthwhile trade off for me) I think Bitwarden allows you to use your own database.

Chaniel Posted February 11, 2021 Posted February 11, 2021 Windows Defender (Pihole and uBlock Origin to block ads) and sensible internet usage KeePass for my password manager. I keep the file in my Google Drive (2F) and use KeePass2Android when I need to use it on my phone.

AT the moment I may stay with AVAST for AV - but it does seem to be of little value if defender aorks perfectly well. it's just that it makes sense that the hackers would look for weaknesses there first but then it probably has more resources to throw at staying ahead so....... anyway thanks again

Bedders Posted February 17, 2021 Posted February 17, 2021 I'm trialling BitWarden and Lastpass as replacements for Dashlane. I prefer Bitwarden at the moment as even the free version is probably enough for my needs, and $10/year is far cheaper than the alternative providers.

jthompson Posted February 17, 2021 Posted February 17, 2021 Defender on Windows; nothing on Mac but using it as a non-admin user. KeePass with the db stored in Google Drive to sync across devices and share with my OH. Using the regular KeePass app on Windows, KeePassXC on Mac and KeePass2Android or KeePassDX on Android. About the only thing I see lacking in it is browser integration, but I'm personally okay with that. I tend to use FF for personal stuff and make use of the password storage in that, but I wouldn't want to get by on just a browser-based password manager as I use KeePass to store things beyond just website username/password combos (licenses, PINs, NHS number, etc.).

JamesFish2020 Posted February 19, 2021 Posted February 19, 2021 If you have Sophos Intercept X in school you can get Sophos Home Premium for FREE. Also 1Password had been amazing for password manager. Works across Windows. Apple and Android and also have browser extensions! I use 1Password as well on all my machines and mobile devices. Just find it "easier" in my mind. For AV I use ESET internet Security as I got a good deal as I was using it on my home machine.
