MS Teams + New Powerpoint Presenter View - WTF Microsoft...

Yeah it should be optional in public Preview, are MS not aware of the situation with so many people working from home and using their services.

So here's the funny parts.

1. I dont have public preview turned on neither do my users so this is actually slowly working its way around in the live system as we speak.

2. Did no-one actually test it on a smaller laptop screen for scaling

3. Its a Friday and luckily i'm pretty much in "meh" mood but come Monday when it hits more businesses and schools this is going to blow up massively

I have teachers share the desktop PowerPoint via single window sharing. all the transitions, animations work best and is teacher lead not participant lead.

they can still upload pp to files as well.

Most of ours use the powerpoint sharing thing, so I'd have a riot on my hands if I disabled it entirely

This is annoying, as this is a public preview feature & shouldn't have been rolled out with no warning - For those of us with large monitors it's fine (& this is much better), but a lot of our staff are working from small laptop machines & not happy.

There's *always* a uservoice. It's where requests go to die.

Any feature you can think of, will be buried there. Usually under "Last updated 2018" but with loads of people asking for it....

Our staff have started recieving it towards the end of last week and we immediately got requests to turn it off!

Erm... sorry..... this is how Microsoft want you to use it.

Can't believe they didn't put an option in to turn it on or off, yet!

Is this a phased roll out? I tested this today and have still got the old / traditional way of presenting using the Teams Desktop App. What version of Teams are you using?

Who knows? MS were saying it was public preview only! There's no real documentation online anywhere about it being rolled out in general

We are advising staff to download their pptx to their desktop and then run up PowerPoint2016 to share on Teams App. Not a happy bunch of teachers. Also with blended learning - in-class kids and others remote on Teams, the presenter mode gets confused by the 2nd monitor/projector, it seems.

Temporary fix from MS in the next 2 days with further plans later on.

Love the fact that they thanked everyone for being part of the public preview and their invaluable feedback, twonks...
