  1. We are advising staff to download their pptx to their desktop and then run up PowerPoint2016 to share on Teams App. Not a happy bunch of teachers. Also with blended learning - in-class kids and others remote on Teams, the presenter mode gets confused by the 2nd monitor/projector, it seems.
  2. Hi I have 3 Senteo Interactive handsets that still power up and show initial screen options but none of the buttons respond. I have tried "resetting" them, as per the manual, by removing the batteries and holding the power button down for 5+ seconds. No joy. Not entirely surprising if the power button isn't responding! Anyone taken one apart? Have knowledge of this issue?
  3. We have designated exam machines which we can drop into an exam OU for the duration of the exam period. When combined with exam user logins, these machines are pretty well examproof. It also allows us to block spellcheck via group policy. Group Policy Computer Settings Security Settings Software Restriction Policies/Additional Rules Hash Rules Here you can browse to .exe files or, for spell check blocking, to MSSpell3.dll. I also block calc.exe and mspaint.exe in this way.
  4. Bit of an Oxymoron for me. We are successfully using old kit and a HDD setup of Thinstation to contact Terminal servers. All very nice when wired up. Mind-blowingly frustrating via wifi; especially for a linux newbie. Read a 3yr old post claiming it was possible. Anyone care to share their working build.conf / buildtime.conf to get me farther along? Ta
  5. Neatly bracketing the issue so far. Thanks. I'm pretty sure it's permissions too. We aren't using any customised groups to my knowledge. Good to know Autumn update will solve this issue [yes, the code matches] - when it rolls out here. Meanwhile, I'll boost myself to profiles manager as a test first then investigate the permissions of the unfortunate report writer. It may also be to do with the TS user permissions on the remote server. Will post any development.
  6. Staff writing free text comments in Profiles are forced to spellcheck upon saving. Good thing too. Unfortunately the spell check finishes by crashing out SIMS. We use Sims via TS and the Autumn 2010 update claims to improve spell check facilities but our staff are writing reports now and with increasing spell-check-rage. I can replicate error as a profiles operator [and get a sims fault code that goes nowhere] but the the profiles manager does not see the issue. The spell check that comes up looks like MS Office's, we use 2003. Anyone solved/encountered this? Saw something similar when Assessment Manager first came out but can't remember a solution. Dave
  7. Browse Control from Codeworks is a cracker for stopping internet traffic per machine or per "room" Also includes black/white lists for exceptions to the on/off rule Same for applications [i can turn off mspaint, at last] Also blocks cd drives and usb ports remotely too. has a server service and a as many teacher/tech consoles as needed. will remote install the client too. After 4 years no-one's ever got around it. Not free but v good
