Aruba Wireless estimate cost?

Hi,

We`re looking in to replacing our Wireless in the next few months and I`m on with quotes, site surveys commence next week.

I need a ballpark figure to suggest to SLT by the end of the week, could someone let me know how much they paid for theirs?.

It will be for around 30 APs

We just replaced ours with the AP515, paid £305 per unit.

Are you replacing existing Aruba APs, do you have controller or are they going to be cloud/standalone?

 

And are you looking at the Aruba Instant-On or Aruba IAP/APs.

 

Are you dead set on Aruba?? We use Aruba heavily with 2500 + APs and multiple controllers but we have remote offices using RAPs, Pools of IP addresses with provision for up to 40k IP addresses (20K in normal use), role based access and just find that this works flawlessly as package with our NAC provision including wired switches but that will not be same requirement for everyone.

We replaced ours in the summer but with Ruckus and a virtual controller

 

This was for 63 AP's, a Virtual controller (self hosted) 3 years worth of support, moving some ethernet points to obtain better coverage and an external point to point link

£35.5k (we already had all the POE required)

Oh and they mounted all the New AP's and took down the old ones. and did before and after signal maps..

Hi @maxrebo, whilst we won't be able to give you a guide price on Aruba, are you also open to looking at Ruckus, if you haven't done so already?

 

If so, we can do the relevant surveys and project discussion to determine the best AP model, locations/count and management system and provide the relevant costings. Please send me a PM if it could be of interest.

Were in process of decommissioning our Aruba stuff, its getting on a bit but cost wise its pricey which the licensing side of things, Unifi does everything we need it to, think we must be close to 500 AP's now on it once the last 100 come off Aruba.

We use Aruba Instant with multiple local clusters.

- No hardware / software controller, so no CAPWAP tunnel; small local subnets in each building for different user groups, "VRF-lite" + source NAT.

- No central Aruba management software. Just plain SNMP monitoring.

- No additional hardware or software contract, just plain HPE´s "lifetime" warranty.

- Prices are without taxes, without mounting kit, without PoE+/PoE++ injector:

AP-505H: 240€

AP-535: 470€

AP-555: 630€

Just to clarify this, Instant clusters can still be monitored with Aruba Central or AirWave if desired, it just sounds like this person has chosen not to.

We didn't buy our ruckus through Net-Ctrl but I did speak with them on and off for advice. Excellent service! Wouldn't hesitate going with them!
