cheaptonersucks Posted December 17, 2020 Posted December 17, 2020 Hi, Staff are unable to participate in any webinars using GoToWebinar. Teams, Zoom and every other video conferencing app seems to work except GoToWebinar. The IT manager informed me that the domain is not blocked. We sit behind a Kcom firewall as we are based in Lincolnshire. The IT manager thinks that it's getting blocked by the Kcom firewall. Is there anyway that I can find out definitively, if it's the Kcom firewall that's blocking it? Tried different browsers etc... I downloaded the GoTo Meeting desktop app, but even after logging in with the admin account, the dialogue box shown below appears after running the client software? Thanks
gmonks Posted December 17, 2020 Posted December 17, 2020 You may need to allow these IPs / URLs through your Firewall. https://support.goto.com/webinar/help/optimal-firewall-configuration-g2w060025 You can also join a test session 1
Jcx500 Posted December 17, 2020 Posted December 17, 2020 are you using a proxy ? we had to define ours in netsh to get this to work and also whitelist the list of IP's and also bypass ssl inspection for those domains it uses 1
cheaptonersucks Posted December 17, 2020 Author Posted December 17, 2020 Thanks gmonks, I contacted Kcom as the IT manager said that the LA Firewall must be blocking GoToWebinar and they sent me the form as shown below to fill out, but they couldn't tell me how to fill it out! I am not sure where the form asks for the "source address of traffic/subnet" do they want the IP range of the whole school network? Also, where the form asks "Destination address" and "Destination protocol" what should I put in there as there are several ports that need to be unblocked according to this page https://support.goto.com/webinar/hel...tion-g2w060025 I am just not entirely sure what to put in those cells?
cheaptonersucks Posted December 17, 2020 Author Posted December 17, 2020 (edited) Thanks Jcx500. We are using a proxy (Sophos WS1100 web appliance). The IT manager said that it's the Firewall that Kcom manage that is blocking GoToWebinar, but I don't really know what to enter in some of the cells on the Firewall request form that they sent to me! I have never filled one of these forms out before! Edited December 17, 2020 by cheaptonersucks
Jcx500 Posted December 17, 2020 Posted December 17, 2020 Rule Name- Put what you want the rule to be called Source address- That would be goto's ip range's/ addresses Destination Address- This is where you want the traffic to be allowed. Destination Protocol - what ports/services you want allowed Description- Put what the ports open/allow Action- Permit 1
Davit2005 Posted December 17, 2020 Posted December 17, 2020 (edited) I've never filled in one of these exact forms however the looks of it it's asking for something like the below: Then repeat all 3 IP (Block) ranges as needed for the other ports (UDP 8200, UDP 1853 etc as listed on their page). You can also swap the destination and source around to make it inbound not outbound if required. And of course whitelist the domains listed Port 433 , should that not be 443 ??? https://support.goto.com/webinar/help/optimal-firewall-configuration-g2w060025 Edited December 17, 2020 by Davit2005 1
Davit2005 Posted December 17, 2020 Posted December 17, 2020 (edited) It should be 443 for HTTPS you're right, trust me to not look properly! Thanks Just posted in a link which may be of use. https://support.goto.com/webinar/help/optimal-firewall-configuration-g2w060025 Edited December 17, 2020 by Davit2005 1
ITGURU Posted December 17, 2020 Posted December 17, 2020 We are on KCOM with their firewall. proxy server on-site, not inline. No issues with goto here, and never had to put any change requests in on the firewall. 1
