DFE Student Devices - iPads

Hi all

 

Anybody had any iPads from the DFE / Computacenter. Have you happened to find their DEP Reseller number.

Taking an age to get a reply from the DFE and Computacenter weren't any help.

I had the same issue, I got it resolved by email this lady, she sorted it within a few days.

Cheers the reseller ID above worked. I emailed them first. It takes a week to get a response though. Had to wait 3 weeks for some chromebook licenses. All very slow going other than the shipping of devices. Thanks again

I am about to order few DfE devices for pupils who are isolating. Would you mind telling if you have got locked iPads or unlocked iPads? Are you using for Primary school pupils?

I didn’t realise they did locked iPads. But all unlocked. Just added with schools others. Just means paying for mdm licenses. Using schools bb proxy for filtering

They come from Computacenter with the chromebooks. You get the chromebook, a bag and license. First few orders seemed to take weeks to be added. Latest ones seem to be a few days

It has been quite a few years since I last did this (we have iPad mini Gen 2 as our most up to date device - so you can see how long it's been)...

 

I thought there might have been something in the ordering chain that would require our ASM number to be required, but obviously not reading these posts.

 

So, in ASM go to Settings > Device Management Settings > Customer Numbers > Edit > Reseller Number

 

Add the Computacentre number (892F050) given in one of the posts above, or possibly the XMA one (354BF80) from another post, depending on where they come from....

 

Then what?

As long as devices appear in DEP then you are good to go, if they don't you have the task of requesting them to be done via the reseller

You should have added your Apple org ID when you were ordering from ComputaCentre.

If not maybe email the Covid technology so they can do it now. Might take a couple of weeks though to get sorted

 

and yess add those 2 codes to resellers in your apple school manager

It appears the Business Manager has already ordered them and says that it didn't ask for any information.

 

This was done through the DfE portal and not through Computacentre though...

Really helpful, thank-you. I got the ​Devices Pending​ email from ASM this morning. Am I right in thinking that I just need to be patient for 24 hours and I will get another email confirming that they've been accepted into ASM?

 

Only ever done this before when I've added the reseller ID in advance.

Has anyone had any of the latest batch of iPads under the DfE scheme? We supplied Apple ID for a number of schools in our trust at time of ordering but they don't seem to be appearing in ASM. Anyone else having the same? Don't expect a speedy response using the covid.technology email...

We emailed [email protected] and they got back to us the next day saying they had enrolled the iPads for us.

 

So pretty quick - worth an email anyway...?
