Primus Posted October 14, 2020 Posted October 14, 2020 Hi all, just wanted to check my understanding on something - teachers of classes on Teams can use the insights feature to track student use of the team, submission of work etc. but there isn't a central way to check across the school that SLT could use beyond the usage reports available in the Teams Admin Centre is there?
Boredguy Posted October 14, 2020 Posted October 14, 2020 Don't think so, but also note that if you remove a student from the Team, their details won't appear in gradebook/insights etc which means we're having to create 5 different teams for our Tech classes as the students change subject (Food Tech, Design Tech and Computing) every term
psydii Posted October 14, 2020 Posted October 14, 2020 While we wait for Microsoft to deliver this needed feature... you might be able to bodge something up using the scripts here and a bit of PowerBI or Excel: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/education/deploy/configure-assignments-for-teams
TechMonkey Posted October 15, 2020 Posted October 15, 2020 Don't think so, but also note that if you remove a student from the Team, their details won't appear in gradebook/insights etc which means we're having to create 5 different teams for our Tech classes as the students change subject (Food Tech, Design Tech and Computing) every term Why not use channels? Have a carousel Team and divide the subjects by Channel?
Boredguy Posted October 15, 2020 Posted October 15, 2020 We already have them setup by subjects with channels for the class, as was the agreement for the whole trust in August, before some of the more savvy users protested so some of the Leadership team insisted on a change to Team per class (which is easier for staff/meetings) so they can use gradebook & assignments just for their part of the course and not for whole year and it only goes to the 30 or so kids and not the 150-180
tapb Posted October 15, 2020 Posted October 15, 2020 There are more high level Insights coming. You can preview a limited set of feature at the moment by pinning the Insights app to your app bar and setting appropriate permissions. https://educationblog.microsoft.com/en-us/2020/08/new-education-insights-improve-student-engagement-in-hybrid-learning/ 1
jblackburnHWGA Posted October 15, 2020 Posted October 15, 2020 we've given some members of staff permissions (mostly senior staff) to get to https://admin.teams.microsoft.com/analytics/reports The Insights thing above looks good! I was hoping for a good Power Bi connector for teams data. The CQD stuff is useless for education purposes as far as I can see. I wonder though i did spot a products insights that was in beta the other day in Power Bi
