Does anyone know how to disable this "feature" in teams I can't see it in teams admin so i'm guessing it an exchange thing. Ideally we want to ban it by group but would ban it for all if we needed. Kids are using it for evil lol

Well technically Azure is a server lol. There is no thing as serverless we're just renting servers but we don't have any one site. My devices don't need to find each other they just need the internet.

You can run DHCP off the core switch and use 8.8.8.8 as dns

I do have said access. So i don't need a VPN to connect to the Azure VM? I just need to use an external IP? I'll need to do some reading lol I need to fully understand it if I'm going to use it.

Are you paying for the VM directly to MS through O365 billing or are you using a third party? i'd prefer an annual thing as otherwise finance makes me do a PO every month

What you're saying is its complicated lol. Why cant things be simpler. For Aruba the vm would need to see the switches to work correctly. So i would need to VPN it back? For Salamander it wouldn't need to come back to site as Salamander can run anywhere as long as it has the internet.

I'm looking at Azure VMs but I'm struggling to find pricing and how i license. I currently have A5. I'm M365 and serverless. I'm running a few things off a desktop and I'm looking at moving them to an Azure VM. Wondering if someone has pricing etc. The main things i want to run off the VM is SalamanderSoft and Aruba Airwave. Both don't really need much power or CPU. Aruba Airwave would go on first and Salamander in the future. Thanks

Setting up an MTO would work, just be careful as some of its still in preview or only accessible under certain circumstances. If you plan on moving to a central tenant i would just focus on doing that rather than a half way solution. It's going to take you a year or two to move it anyway but there are some quick wins. If your schools are all on prem at the moment the move to a central cloud prem like azure is fairly easy. Its only as disruptive as moving an on prem setup to azure.

Yes will do. Not so bothered on the data loss its just kids walking around. We mostly use the internal cctv for behaviour. Encrypted though 100%.

Thanks. I'll have a look. I'm having a look at paxton as well as we will being using their door system. The data sits on the camera i think and then you access it from a central console.

Does anyone use Paxton cameras? We're having Paxton throughout, external and internal doors. A keyless school even though there will be some doors with a key. Just thinking if we have the door access then the cctv might be a good option. Imrogers we a few Hik cameras now and an NVR for them. I agree they're actually very good for the price and ease of use. Are there any issues around using HIK currently?

I tend to steer clear of Unifi Dahua looks quite good and would be easy to install in house. Konica Minolta quoted me for a system. To install, £75k. It had fancy AI and stuff so we can catch the sneaky vapours and the behind the hut fights. The general census is there isn't really a serverless cctv solution mostly due to cost and available options. Maybe one day. I'm open to suggestions of cctv solutions that have on site nvrs if anyone wants to share what they currently use. The more in house setup friendly it is the better.

I wouldn't personally consider an NVR a server but i don't consider the computer i have DNS and DHCP running off a server either I think we're after a cloud fronted reachable NVR without the need to punch a hole in the firewall. Best of both worlds kind of thing. One i don't need to manage would be great but it'll end up with me anyway. DalekSec what cctv are you using out of interest?

Hi guys, do any of you have a "serverless" cctv solution? Does such a thing exist? I have a new school being built and we're looking at internal cctv which will mostly used to track incidents. I'd love a serverless solution to match my serverless server room. My googling and asking suppliers makes me thing such a thing doesn't exist or isn't worth it.

I'm thinking of doing a complete shutdown and switch on. Edge switch by edge switch with the core last. My core switch has been on 1556 days Its behaving today so far just sluggish speeds in some areas for no real reason.

I need to reboot the core and plan to do so in the holidays. Its that thing in schools where they complain about things but then don't want any outages. I'm worried about rebooting it lol

I've not got much going on in the logs out of the ordinary. My Smoothwall which is using a trunk seems to causing a mac duplicate issue which I've got Smoothwall looking into. It shouldn't be causing me other issues. Smoothwall is running ok. When the system is behaving itself i can download at a full 1gb up or down. The core switch cpu and memory never really goes over 30% even back through historical stats. I'm using about 15 vlans with different subnets. Its like I've got interference. I've been trying to get my old Cacti setup working but its just giving me errors. Can you suggest an alternative that can monitor port utilization? My older core switch can't do it on GUI, my edge switches can which again don't show over utilization. I don't get the same issue on wired it is just wireless which to me means its a wireless AP issue. I will need to test this a bit
