Just wondering if anyone else is having with the new Lenovo V15 IIL laptops?

Having issues with no sound on CTouch screens this is because the CTouch is detecting as DVI rather than the HDMI, and also no display when using HDMI to VGA adapters with Older Smartboards, when you start the laptop you see the loading screen but once windows is loaded you get a black screen.

These laptops are all reloaded with Windows 10 August 2004

Tried the drivers from Lenovo download page, tried optional drivers on the windows update and also tried the Intel DSA which installed a driver from 5th Sept.

Hopefully someone has some suggestions, unfortunately it could be week between testing due to various sites.

Having all sorts of issues with them, but not those issues. Mine won't pick up an IP from DHCP unless I remove the wireless card and re-install it. Then a few days later the same happens.

Same here.

Edit:

looks like it's happening with some thinkpads as well, they also have the Realtek8822CE wifi adapter.

Edit again:

I'm trying this driver - it's more recent than the one Lenovo list for the V15 IIL

Sorry to jump on this thread but I support a school who have purchased these laptops. We're still just trying to get them imaged correctly. We've managed to image them but the touchpad doesn't work. I put all the drivers from Lenovo in MDT but I'm seeing an 'Unknown Device' in device manager. I don't think it's the touchpad as manually pointing to the touchpad driver doesn't work. I think it might be a internal IO port of some sort.

So could I ask if any of you have run in to a similar issue before you ran in to all the above. Then it sounds like I'll get a bit further and run in to the same issues your all having!

Good to know! Rather than hijacking this thread, can we move over to this one? Do let me know how you get on.

This worked for the missing driver for me after I re-imaged to LTSC (1809)

That package is for "Operating Systems Microsoft Windows 10 64-bit (1903 or later)" which may well work for you, but as I am using LTSC (1809) does not work for me.

I'm getting this problem on 13 of these. Whilst it's obviously fine on HDMI to HDMI, it doesn't work when going through HDMI to VGA - which 80% of our projectors run on. Other suggestions I've seen from other posts suggest using powered VGA splitters - which is not really an option as I don't think we should need to spend more money to get the laptops to project.

The Intel chipsets dont have a USB-C port, only USB 3 and 2 (Gen1) , not sure about the AMD Model. How have you got these hooked up and do you have a link to this particular adapter please?

What i found recently was if i connected the Lenovo with the HDMI to VGA adapter then vga cable direct to the back of the projector (casio lcd) it works fine, its only when i use the existing cabling that goes to a wall box which works fine with older laptops. Looks like the specs have changed on the HDMI / Cabling for these new ones.

Waiting on the company that does the cabling to come and test with new cables and face plates.

Having massive issues with 10th Gen Lenovos in general... I have a Thinkpad E15 running the factory image which works fine on all HDMI devices; yesterday I imaged an identical machine with drivers exported from my working machine and installed to MDT... all of a sudden the laptop won't detect an HDMI monitor but oddly works PERFECTLY with a new Viewsonic IFPD the school have recently had installed. My only suspicion is it may be to do with anything running older versions of the HDMI standard (I'd fully expect the HDMI-VGA converters to be running older HDMI versions - it's not like they're running 4K resolutions over VGA, is it?). At another school I have a set of 4x V15-IIL machines that REFUSE to work with older Clevertouch boards but work fine with the couple of newer models we have onsite. Tried querying this with Lenovo directly but they dropped the call (not impressed).

Oddly the V15-ADA (Ryzen) versions work absolutely beautifully...

We have had to replace at least 5 Projectors because new 10th Gen (in our case HP) Laptops dont work with HDMI to VGA adaptors - they just go out of range.. odley they worked in extended mode just not duplicate... mostly our projectros are epson and anything < eb-x12 needed replacing some x9s and x7s. the new projectors play nice with HDMI to VGA dongles using the existing cabling. we are going to start running HDMI cables from the front up to the projectors just a lot of rooms to do!
