Steven_Cleaver Posted September 18, 2020 Posted September 18, 2020 Hi all Hope everyone is well in the education sector moved over to the Dark Side and back to industry couple of years ago now. So we have gone virtually remote now which is in general has gone well except for buying and setting up 250 laptops in a week at the start great fun. Anyhow looks like we are staying remote so just really looking for a new way to deploy software remotely don't really fancy Intune as looks painful and because we sort of Hybrid site most stuff accessed via VPN our own sort of back office systems. Just wondered if anyone had any ideas at things to look at some of our software is a bit quirky to deploy so not always just straight ford Exe or MSI needs pre-requisites etc so something that is quite flexible. Mostly at the moment we are manually installing everything on devices remotely although don't have loads of software rolling out anything new to devices will be painful as have around 450 devices. Many thanks Steven
Jcx500 Posted September 18, 2020 Posted September 18, 2020 i wonder if pdq deploy would work over a vpn? 2
Rob_D Posted September 18, 2020 Posted September 18, 2020 We're trialing Filewave for remote device management, so far it's looking good (seems to work better than intune for us). 1
mavhc Posted September 18, 2020 Posted September 18, 2020 How much of it already has chocolatey packages? You can create a private repo if the software isn't publically available on the internet, plus you can use it to deploy everything else too. Pay for business version or use scripts to do the same thing. 1

Steven_Cleaver Posted September 18, 2020 Author Posted September 18, 2020 Chocolatey? Have had a quick look at this the other day and looks a possibility would be full enterprise version for our requirements.
