Clevertouch T Series 65 - Not Interactive

One of Clevertouch screens intermittently becomes non-interactive with Windows programs. So the pen/touch will work with the menu system etc but not Smart Notebook, Windows desktop etc.

I've changed the USB cable and it's not that.

Has anyone had similar issues? Could it be the USB port interface into the device?

I haven't tried another laptop on it yet which I will do when I can get at it without a class of children in there.

Sounds stupid, but are you sure it's not the teacher or pupil pressing the toggling the touch button on the remote? (it's one of the colour buttons - green maybe?).

 

I ask because we had this exact situation in one classroom.

I'd open a ticket with them. Even if it's not still within the 5 year warranty you'll likely get an idea of what's wrong (and a repair cost).

 

It does sound like it could be the USB port on the Clevertouch.

Their tech support solved it in the end, apparently if Smart drivers are installed (which happens as part of the Smart Software install) it can cause issues. I removed the Smart Drivers and now all is fine!

Another thing to try (from previous experience) is to download upgraded firmware to a flash drive. This can make all the difference too.

 

Plug in the flash drive with the screen off and press/hold the power button for 10-15 seconds. The MS-DOS upgrade screen will appear with a progress bar and then restart.
