itmanager___ Posted September 11, 2020 Posted September 11, 2020 Hello member, Happy Friday !! We have recently purchased a couple of Thustand USB Document Camera, the quality is excellent and the build quality is robust. The visualiser does not come with any bundled software and relies on the user to install 3rd party software. Having a look online we found IPEVO Visualiser software which works well, but we keep getting advert popups : Does anyone know how to get rid of these permanently? or have a different version of the software which does not have the adds? Look forward to your input. Many thanks.
Davit2005 Posted September 11, 2020 Posted September 11, 2020 (edited) That is pretty horrendous. You would be better with a webcam on a stick basically the same thing but less chance of adverts. Is there not a paid for version with no adverts, I'd be surprised if there was not because that is pretty much unusable and not fit for purpose. And It is pretty bad that it is advertised on Microsoft site without indication of adverts but bring that up with MS and you will prob get a reply to the tune of nothing to do with us we are not responsible. There is a Thread on here http://www.edugeek.net/forums/av-multimedia-related/202955-visualiser-webcam-recommendations-please.html Edited September 11, 2020 by Davit2005 1
bknaggs Posted September 11, 2020 Posted September 11, 2020 We use that software with a couple of iPevo visualisers and don't get the adverts so I'm guessing they make the software available free of charge but make it display adverts if not running with their hardware.
BennyG Posted September 11, 2020 Posted September 11, 2020 Hi, This popup problem just started happening for us after installing the latest version. Previous versions seemed to be ok...
itmanager___ Posted September 11, 2020 Author Posted September 11, 2020 Yes you're right. I remember using same software lat year and we did not have any ads.
JasonNVSD Posted May 12, 2021 Posted May 12, 2021 We're also getting the ads on version 1.14.249.0. Is version 2 any better?
DavR Posted May 12, 2021 Posted May 12, 2021 We're using IPEVO Presenter v6.6 for our visualisers, that has no ads and also works with generic webcams. Although as I recall it did muck around with our Visual C++ versions somewhat on install. There's also the option of just going back to basics and using the Windows 10 camera app if you just want display and image capture, that's what some of our teachers do.
JasonNVSD Posted May 12, 2021 Posted May 12, 2021 Presenter doesn't work with the V4K. Thanks for the suggestion.
Sanchez Posted May 12, 2021 Posted May 12, 2021 We use the IPEVO visualiser chrome extension which works well with no ads and has the advantage of working with our Chromebooks. https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/ipevo-visualizer/knibbpmgfkaginjkddpmmpcnknegecok?hl=en-GB
dhicks Posted May 13, 2021 Posted May 13, 2021 Presenter doesn't work with the V4K. Just looking up the IPEVO V4K on Amazon, it looks like it just works as a generic USB camera, and therefore should work with pretty much any computer / web browser (except, of course, iOS). If it's any help, I have a very basic browser-based camera test / preview application available here: https://www.sansay.co.uk/pi-view The above is simply an HTML camera preview pane with a couple of control buttons, but it should suffice to display what is in front of the camera. I can probably add a snapshot button easily enough if needed.
