JRA Posted July 20, 2023 Posted July 20, 2023 I wonder how many people had to be rescued from those lifts! I wonder how many people just starved to death trying to leave floor 2. Reminds me of that elevator game creepypasta where pressing numbers takes you to some alternate dimension.
6Foot2 Posted July 20, 2023 Author Posted July 20, 2023 Do some of those go sideways? Door open/close buttons?
Koldov Posted July 20, 2023 Posted July 20, 2023 Yeah I've seen those lifts in a hospital where the doors open both sides, I'm guessing at some point pressing only one 'floor' button might mean the other side's door won't open (got to be something convoluted like that)?
Dos_Box Posted July 21, 2023 Posted July 21, 2023 Hunting around for a new washing machine and came across this...
mikeprice Posted July 22, 2023 Posted July 22, 2023 Hunting around for a new washing machine and came across this... Why has someone gone into out Utility room (how posh are we eh!!!) and taken a photo of our washing machine????? bloomin' cheek must remember to take the meat of for dinner tomorrow - anyway - it makes a hell of a racket on spin! 2
mikeprice Posted July 25, 2023 Posted July 25, 2023 Shooting and Drinking - what could go wrong OK OK OK - when I read it the shooting is simulated - so presumably no reall guns and bullets just made me wonder at first sight! Still - if it was advertised in certain parts of the USA............
6Foot2 Posted July 29, 2023 Author Posted July 29, 2023 ALL CAPS probably not a good idea. I've seen examples of worse choice of font for similar wording. I won't post those examples here, as they really look like they used the word I'm dancing around here.
LeMarchand Posted July 31, 2023 Posted July 31, 2023 They've now removed it, but the Daily Fail appear to have forgotten how names work. 2

6Foot2 Posted August 27, 2023 Author Posted August 27, 2023 Saw this on Amazon today: It's one or the other. Choose! 1
mikeprice Posted August 28, 2023 Posted August 28, 2023 Saw this on Amazon today: It's one or the other. Choose! It would also be nice if they chose singular or plural for the units not that I am one to complain about grammar but........ 2
smurfomatic Posted August 28, 2023 Posted August 28, 2023 Mixed units seem to be an Amazon thing: Width in metric, length in imperial - length comparison in metric! 1
Jawloms Posted August 28, 2023 Posted August 28, 2023 The dimensions of tyres has always impressed me - millimetres, inches and a percentage!!
mikeprice Posted August 29, 2023 Posted August 29, 2023 The dimensions of tyres has always impressed me - millimetres, inches and a percentage!! Bike tyres are even worse quote from Cycling UK For example, some tyres marked 28" are actually much less than 27 inches in diameter, while 26×1.5 and 26×1½ are two completely different sizes. and Tyres of the same size may come with lots of different markings: 28×1¼×15/8, 28×1¾×1¼ or 700×32C, for example, which are all 32-622. it is all crazy - there is an ISO system - but it doesn;t get used much!
