Query about Xporter

I have a query about the Xporter from Groupcall. Do you have to run it on the server your MIS is on or can it be installed on any computer to be executed from there?

I've been asked to setup a MIS link using GroupCall but no one from the MIS, Groupcall or third party have answered my question.

It runs automatically as a service, so normally it's on MIS as it just does its stuff It's not manual sync style program like some companies use.

I normally install it on a server that has the SIMS.net client installed. Call it my Sync server But he’s just a normal member server nothing speshal other than having SIMS.net installed. So no need for it to be on your SQL, SIMS or Solous server.

Have to say this is one of the better sync tools I've used over the past couple of years.

One it's installed it just works and runs a job or two depending on the setup and will tell you if it's errorred in the console..

Interesting.... Ours has ALWAYS been installed on the SIMs server.

Same as @MicrodigitUK. We use Groupcall XOD so you have total control of the data you are passing across and can cancel at anytime. Works well. Groupcall help is usually really good so I'm surprised they haven't answered your question.

The overheads of Groupcall, Wonde or both on the same MIS server is fine. The memory requirements are low and typically run out of hours.
