Has anyone tried using one of the services that refurbish and resell iPhones? Are there any particular recommendations and\or pitfalls, I'm after a refurbed iPhone 7 or 8.

Thanks

The iphone SE (2) is looking like great value and super powerful. £420 quid. 5 year support.

if you price your phone per year (as I do) then the se2 is great value. I'm currently rocking the original SE (still has support!)

Thanks. A refurbed iPhone 7 32GB is retailing round about £200 so maybe worth considering digging deeper into the pocket and getting the SE with 5 years support.

100% Android user here. I've steered several people towards the new iPhone SE recently - from both Android and iPhone.

As mentioned above, the much longer support makes it much better value than the 7 or 8, as well as being significantly higher spec.

John Lewis have it with interest free credit and a year's Apple TV subscription if that helps.... And a two year guarantee.

Edit: note to self: For $deity's sake please try and remember you hate Apple and all they stand for. Just shut up. Shut up.

if you buy from apple direct they do 0% finance over 2 years, if your cash flow is an issue. £18 a month ish. This I would recommend over buying a re-con iphone. or if you can hold out with the turd you have until your savings get to where you need them.

or ask a well to do relative if they're upgrading soon and offer a £100 cash as they tend to gift them to children without a thought.

From experience, I would maybe avoid the iPhone 7. I’d suggest that if you really are looking to save money, look at the 8 or the new SE. As someone else mentioned, Apple do interest free financing on iPhones.

Also worth looking at Apple’s website as they do refurbished iPhones too.

The 8 (and 8plus) were fantastic phones, but the battery life was awful!

The New SE is the best bang for buck right now and has a cracking battery life.

Alternatively, look for an XR or second hand 11. Both last for more than a day.

Thanks. I'm glad I joined up here. People are so helpful. It certainly looks as if the new SE is a good buy for me so going to splash out for a change. Cheers!

Hi there,

I've been asked by the school office to recommend a seller for refurbished iPhones.

Has anyone done this?

Thanks - Simon

Have bought quite a few Amazon refurb iphone 8's in the past for staff / trip phones etc. Usually £100 a time, if I need any more I'll probably grab the XS next time as I think the 8 has just hit it's IOS limit. Not had an issue so far out of about 20 bought.
