Not something I use a lot, but it often comes up when Im googling for a solution to something

Can anyone tell me why they have the 'Sign up to view the solution' messages, but if you keep scrolling down you can see the solution anyway?

Not complaining but it makes me laugh, why bother trying to make people sign up if you can see all the solutions for free anyway? :D

Is it because you are logged in alreadly on the machine that you are using

normally it says sign for the soultion to your problem

It does say that...but keep scrolling down and the solutions are there

And no, not even got a membership

Not even using the cached google results, although thats another way to view them

Again, not complaining, just find it amusing

I am also a member, but I know what you mean. I have noticed on machines that I am not logged on to Experts Exchange that the answers are available by scrolling down further.

I don't use it that much for getting answers, I use it mostly for giving answers. I think I have only asked one question & no one has come up with a solution yet anyway.

I think the reason the answers are there is because Experts Exchange were providing them to the googlebot but not to visitors, which Google sees as scamming their engine.

I'm still waiting for stackoverflow to get out of beta (okay, actually got to wait for it to get in to beta first...).

It's all about getting the hits. If they truely obscured the answers then the goog spider would definitely drop them off the bottom of the list.

Still it could be worse, from what I hear they used to get a lot of hits from people looking for an expert sex change until they changed their domain name slightly :D
