hardtailstar Posted July 13, 2020 Posted July 13, 2020 I have a weeks holiday coming up. I was originally going to travel round the UK with my camera to photograph wildlife and generally explore. I've now decided to stay home and go for days out within government guidelines. I live in Kent and can travel into Sussex and Surrey quite easily. Any suggestions for things to do and places to photograph wildlife?

Stodmarsh NNR for Bearded Tit, Barn Owl (dusk), Marsh Harriers (dead cert), Turtle Dove (early morning by the river) Hobbies catching dragonflies, Butterflies, Dragonflies and Kingfisher and Bittern if you’re lucky. Park at Grove Ferry end. The loos are open. Parking is £1.30 M-F, £2 at weekends and bank holidays. You can pay with the PayByPhone app Rye Harbour nature reserve for avocets, terns, stonechat Dungeness... on the beach and at ARC pit opposite the RSPB which is closed. Hobbies, Raven, Bittern... Pegwell Bay and Sandwich Bay Bird Observatory both good. I love doing just that! I pack a lunch, latest copy of Wired magazine & head for a quiet area of the North Antrim Coast! I'm off for 2 weeks now, and I think I will do this at least once, hopefully more

Good idea with the park. This works even better if there are many trees or bushes you can hide in. Then point your camera through the leaves and stalk some people. 1

I think clothes are highly over rated. Have we not all cut up our remaining clothes yet to make homemade face coverings anyway? Lol! I spent a day of my holiday today just doing exactly what I said above - chilling out at the seafront enjoying a coffee, lunch and reading. Despite the rain it was relaxing!
