Hi,

Does anyone use Microsoft Teams for collaboration between your It techs?

Im looking to start using it alot more between our team.

Weve linked our Onenote techs notebook and started building a Wiki for how to guides so far.

Any more ideas would be appreciated

Thanks

I use it for my IT team. For posting articles, general chit chat, we host all our files in documents area and all our documentation is in the collaboration space in OneNote. As members of the Team get their own section in OneNote that only they and the owners can see, I use it for when I do appraisals and one-on-ones to keep track. It has been a really useful tool since lock down.

We have used it for over a year within our Team and really like it. Infact I dont know how we would have coped over the last few weeks with everyone working at home.

Things we have in our IT "Team" other than what has been menioned is:

Microsoft Planner

Annual Leave Planner

A Basic SharePoint Online site giving links to various Admin web based portals ie, O365, RDS, Barracuda, Meraki.

You can add connectors for Twitter and RSS so I have the 365 Status twitter on the chat as an easy to access check if anything is going wrong, as well as the weekly digest of the Microsoft Roadmap.

Only really using the VC aspect of Teams, which we really like. Telephony is handled by Skype4Business (we have the OnPrem version for our landlines) and we have a WhatsApp chat for team use. Add to that Yammer, Slack, OneNote, service desk software and email (and EduGeek!) and I can spend most of my day monitoring comms rather than doing work...

Using it here between the team - only thing is our schools are still on separate 365 tenancy's son when trying to do group chats with other organisation you don't get the full features as a guest.

Also using it here in the same way others have suggested but also use shifts to assign shift pattern. More useful for holidays as our onsite could be at any one of the sites doing project work

Some you saying your limited by schools having their own tennant. Have you consider joining all your schools in to an MTO. Multi tenant organisation. Allows from cross comms and sharing work
