IT Suite Pcs

Hello,

 

Im in a position where i can buy some new desktops for an IT suite and some offices. Im looking at the HP Prodesk400 G6. has any one any experience with these any issues?

 

Or can you recommend a SFF machine with the following spec

 

Windows 10 Pro 64

Intel® Core™ i5-

8 GB memory;

512 GB PCIe® NVMe™ SSD storage can be 256GB SSD

In answer to your question... I've recently purchased that model, with the 256GB - the users didn't need the 512.

In fact, depending on the usage, you could potentially opt for a 16GB RAM with the 256GB if that works any better.

For the disk space, I generally set aside 10% of space for over-provisioning. So my 256 disks become roughly 220, and 512 becomes 450.

 

I can say without a doubt that they are fast and very easy to configure.

I like the fact that the Prodesk model has an HP driver pack, so very easy to add to your deployment tasks, or just to install all up-to-date drivers in one go.

These have replicated BIOS setup options, so you can configure your settings on one, back up those settings, then import those on the remaining units - saves a bit of time.

 

No issues currently. I'm using 1909 EDU version.

 

EDIT: Just an extra comment. The units I purchased had VGA and DP outputs onboard. Therefore you'd need an add-in graphics card for HDMI or DVI.

240/256GB SSDs are perfectly fine. That's what most of ours run/will be upgraded to. Still loads of room after being reimaged. Maybe 150GB or more.

 

Only people who need more are maybe your IT team/graphics/video people. Everythng else is either on a large HDD, NAS or file server.
