Hi there,

Was just looking to update our GPO Central Store with the 1909 ADMX templates and noticed that only Server 2019 seems to be supported.....

Does anyone know if this is definitely the case? Or can we safely install the 1909 templates onto Server 2016?

Just wondering if anyone else had tried this as Googling has got me nowhere so far [emoji17]

Based on what it says in black and white says you need server 2019 DC for the GPOs - however if memory serves me right as as long as you've got 1 server 2019 DC it will be used for windows 10 1909 GPOs ok if others are still 2016?

I'm just starting to create 1909 images but not yet updated GPO files.

I have the templates on Server 2012 R2. It’s not usually an issue (last time I remember it being so was 2008 templates on Server 2003 where some settings wouldn’t show).

Thanks for the advice everyone! Yeah it just really threw me as Microsoft usually offer the ADMX templates for install on the most recent/supported Server OS's. I'm just surprised that so few people have queried it across the internet.

I think I'll proceed with caution.....but its good to know that the templates work with 2012 R2 :)
