[bromcom] To anybody already using this. is this 100% "web-based" in a browser?

With all the issues and lack of Sims dev at the moment, people are starting to chat about it more.

It's a Webapp that runs entirely in a standard browser on any device.

We had a demo last week, and yes, properly web based. You can open multiple pages in different tabs to multitask/compare records, because it's all just web pages. Works on anything with a browser, including tablets and phones, though the latter might be a bit too awkward for the full-fat experience--there are apps available, though.

We use Bromcom and have for nearly 5 years and yes everything is web based. The only exception to this would be the Bromcom E-timetable software (you wouldn't want that web based) but once complete you import your timetable into Bromcom and any day-to-day changes are done via the main, web based system.

Yes its cloud based in a browser as others have mentioned. No local server or clients.

And there is apps for Teachers, Parents and Students on mobiles/tablets.

The behaviour pathways for setting up the automation of behaviour events is a windows only install. Also the event alert app, excel add in a Power Bi dashboards.

 

Its great for most things, also you can drop a load of add on services from sims and use bromcoms own. Text service, parent app, room booking, parents evening bookings, finance...

We have been with Bromcom for 7 years so have seen it evolve, works well on many devices and for the day to day teacher requirements. Removes many headaches we had with onsite MIS. It does however mean connectivity speeds are important especially for the heavier report tasks done by Admin.

The Student/Staff/Group listing pages don't work correctly in Firefox but everything else seems to work in Firefox. I know Bromcom would say Chrome is recommended but I would prefer to use Firefox....and shouldn't a web based MIS be browser agnostic?? Besides that small gripe it's a great MIS.
