  1. We are coming up to the annual intake season and a number of the processes have been migrated to Online solutions that need data from our MIS. I have been told that there is a fundamental issue with Bromcoms preadmissions process that remains unresolved and causes duplicate accounts to be populated in the new year 7 group once the new year starts. We manage this by not using pre-admissions. I would appreciate any comments Bromcom users have with this as I would like to support our MIS manager to get this resolved.
  2. Our primary has been a Schoolcomms user for many years but 2 years ago we found that it was not giving us what we need and switched last year to an App from a new supplier. I spoke to Schoolcomms last October to say we didn't want to continue and got the normal response about what features are they not providing/what can we do to keep you etc. However, now we have come to renewal time I have been told that we are in a rolling 3 year agreement that we were put on when the contacts where transferred to Parent Pay. Previously it was a 1 year agreement and at no point was any communication given other than a link to T&C on the back of the invoice. I am just putting this out there incase there are others in this situation and if there is any advice on a successful challenge to this tie in if we feel it was not communicated in an open manner? The cost is over £500 for this year for a product we will not even log into.
  3. https://www.tes.com/jobs/vacancy/gsuite-coordinator-oxfordshire-1273991 A unique position to contribute to the continued development of the Academy Google platform. Would suit both technical or trainer bias IT professionals wanting to broaden their career or focus on innovating in an established reference school. Google admin training and continued development will be available.
  4. Sorry misunderstood, You can force the omnibox search provider in the same area of the admin console further down if that is more what you are looking for?
  5. The safe search and Youtube safe search are in the Admin console - device management - Chrome settings - User and browser settings - Content. Should not be overridden unless there is a missed setting that allows users to configure. Depending on the filter, we have lightspeed, there is sometimes a safe search enforcement there. If they are on PCs as well there is a template for Chrome settings in GPO that can enforce it there as well. I would just try one method that works for your environment.
  6. Deployment services are the best way to do it. Depending on your server environment images can be updated and rebuilds done with network boot. There are some companies who will build and image but you then don't have the tools to fix problems. A more old school method if you don't have the server infrastructure would be Sysprep that takes the ID out of a single PC build with all your applications installed so it can be copied to multiple machines.
  7. We have been with Bromcom for 7 years so have seen it evolve, works well on many devices and for the day to day teacher requirements. Removes many headaches we had with onsite MIS. It does however mean connectivity speeds are important especially for the heavier report tasks done by Admin.
  8. We suspend all the accounts for scheduled leavers on the first day back after the summer, They are retained for 1 year and access is by on site appointment. We may introduce the GSuite Takeaway transfer for Post 16 leavers to allow transfer of Gsuite data to a personal account subject to further testing. We can then reduce the retention period.
