Host proxy through DNS or something?

Hi Guys,

 

I have a proxy provided by the central management host which is http://web.site/cache.pac which i need to enter on every device for the proxy config.

 

Is there anyway way to have Windows Server host this and not need to enter this info for every new device? WPAD is okay but again i need to select Auto-Proxy on the devices.

 

Windows 10 is fine as its added through GP but on other device its an absolute pain to me.

If the devices are managed by GSuite, I'm pretty sure that you can use that to set the proxy.

Yes of which i done but its the initial setup of so many CBs i had to add the proxy in the first place and then the GSUITE policy took over...

if you're hosting the PAC file using DNS to WPAD via iis then I'd assume ANY device should pick this up without configuration. (I'll assume chrome books do not and thus your query?)

No not on Chromebooks and Android only Windows and IOS but you have to ensure Auto Proxy is ticked...

That's the default, unless you've actively disabled it then you have no problems.

got it on option 252 in DHCP? I've got 60 chrome books and they pick the wpad automatically with their IP?
