Sheridan Posted October 14, 2019 Posted October 14, 2019 Does anyone else use Autograph 5? Its free but the installer is an exe which I'm failing to package up! If anyone has managed to build an msi for it can I grab a copy?
JJonas Posted October 14, 2019 Posted October 14, 2019 What is it? a search for Autograph 5 only reveals tights! Link please
strawberry Posted October 14, 2019 Posted October 14, 2019 /verysilent on the end did the trick for us. 1
Sheridan Posted October 14, 2019 Author Posted October 14, 2019 Its this one https://completemaths.com/autograph I'll try the verysilent - at least I could script it them
old_n07 Posted October 14, 2019 Posted October 14, 2019 There used to be an option for downloading an MSI in versions 3 and 4 for network deployment.
Arthur Posted October 14, 2019 Posted October 14, 2019 There used to be an option for downloading an MSI in versions 3 and 4 for network deployment. Aren't those versions made by a completely different company (Chartwell Yorke vs La Salle Education)? www.autograph-maths.com
Sheridan Posted October 14, 2019 Author Posted October 14, 2019 V5 is .exe only now - however the /verysilent parameter seems to have done the trick!
6Foot2 Posted October 14, 2019 Posted October 14, 2019 The complete 'Usage' line: "AutographSetup5.0.6.0.exe" /VERYSILENT /SUPPRESSMSGBOXES /NORESTART /SP- HTH. 1
ass17 Posted October 14, 2019 Posted October 14, 2019 Aren't those versions made by a completely different company (Chartwell Yorke vs La Salle Education)? www.autograph-maths.com No, complete maths have swallowed them up, now same thing. 1
Sheridan Posted October 16, 2019 Author Posted October 16, 2019 The complete 'Usage' line: "AutographSetup5.0.6.0.exe" /VERYSILENT /SUPPRESSMSGBOXES /NORESTART /SP- HTH. Yup - that worked a treat thanks. I haven't installed it for years, I think the last version we used actually came on a CD (remember those!)
mavhc Posted October 16, 2019 Posted October 16, 2019 If you sign up as a network admin, you get an msi 1

DrBeaker Posted November 11, 2019 Posted November 11, 2019 anyway to disable the update check? Yeah I'm intrigued by this as well. Anyone found a fix? As well as seeing if the welcome tab can be disabled. For a free app it shows a 'Welcome tab' that firstly prompts them to login or create an account with Autograph.
Network_Boy Posted March 6, 2020 Posted March 6, 2020 Yeah I'm intrigued by this as well. Anyone found a fix? As well as seeing if the welcome tab can be disabled. Did anyone find out if its possible to disable the update check and welcome splash page? Thanks.

Update check yes, will have to check on Monday, welcome page I’m sure I can figure it out [emoji1303][emoji1]
Network_Boy Posted March 9, 2020 Posted March 9, 2020 Update check yes, will have to check on Monday, welcome page I’m sure I can figure it out [emoji1303][emoji1] That would be brilliant. Thanks!

Apologies for the delay in this response. Could you give me a bit more detail about why you're trying to avoid the checking for updates, and the welcome tab? Currently this isn't possible, however I can certainly pass on your feedback to our development team. All the best, Josh

Currently this isn't possible, however I can certainly pass on your feedback to our development team. All the best, Josh Aha! I had sent them an email with the same questions on Friday, but they haven't replied yet. Do you know whether the software has full functionality if the user doesn't sign in on the welcome page? I had a quick play with it and edited a new sheet, and successfully saved that sheet as a file on our network - so I know you can do that much. I was just wondering whether there is any more functionality that's blocked by not signing in, or whether there is any sort of time limit (like a free trial sort of thing) for which you can use the software without signing in.
Lister Posted March 9, 2020 Posted March 9, 2020 We have teachers using it without signing in, they haven't reported any limitations/issues with use. The main confusion is some thought they had to sign up and were "stuck" on the sign up page when the software first opened until one of us point out the new file button at the top. 1
ass17 Posted March 9, 2020 Posted March 9, 2020 Yes, the software is a full with no limitations. I’ve tried to remove the welcome screen but without diving into debugging the EXE which is frowned upon, it’s not in the obvious places... It’s obviously there as some sort of up sell type of thing but confuses the hell out of staff..
mavhc Posted March 9, 2020 Posted March 9, 2020 Could just block the url. Or pick another graphing program https://chocolatey.org/search?q=graph

Good luck with getting a reply. I had to prompt them a few times. As far as i know there are no limitations without signing in. 1
FWBD Posted December 15, 2021 Posted December 15, 2021 Just caught this thread. We're still on 3.3 and just recently got the "component required cannot be found" error. It doesn't help also that their support isn't replying back so we're looking at the new version..
