Renfield-64 Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 Does anyone here use a heat mat for removing iPad screens to fix things inside? Trying to source one but they all seem so expensive.
jtotheb Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 The iFixit iOpener with a toolkit is sub £20 on Amazon. iFixit do sell it as a standalone themselves.
hardtailstar Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 My manager uses a heat gun thing when he repairs ithingys. Have you tried using one of those microwave heat bag things for humans
noelmm Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 If you have access to a 3d printer with a heat bed it works well, set the heat bed to a temp you want and put the screen face down for a few minutes.
Renfield-64 Posted September 12, 2019 Author Posted September 12, 2019 I made a heatbag with rice in it but it didn't get hot in the microwave. I don't have a 3d printer. I will have a look at the iFixit iOpener, I have the toolkit already. Thanks
