Heat mat for iPad repair

Does anyone here use a heat mat for removing iPad screens to fix things inside?

Trying to source one but they all seem so expensive.

The iFixit iOpener with a toolkit is sub £20 on Amazon. iFixit do sell it as a standalone themselves.

My manager uses a heat gun thing when he repairs ithingys.

 

Have you tried using one of those microwave heat bag things for humans

If you have access to a 3d printer with a heat bed it works well, set the heat bed to a temp you want and put the screen face down for a few minutes.

I made a heatbag with rice in it but it didn't get hot in the microwave.

I don't have a 3d printer.

I will have a look at the iFixit iOpener, I have the toolkit already.
