New phones no 3.5mm audio

We have noticed that new phones and tablets are losing their 3.5mm audio port which will become an issue for us as we need those connections for our school sound system. How do we get around this? Are you buying adaptors or is is not possible to do so? Also Do we need different adaptors for iphones and android phones?

Instead of splashing out on a USB-C & a Lightning bolt to 3.5mm adaptors. You can buy a Bluetooth adaptor to stick on the sound system. I use this at home and works a treat

Wouldn't Bluetooth be a pain in the butt for multiple different users?

 

I have a Bluetooth adaptor on a set of speakers in our kitchen at home, and that gets to be a pain with pairing/unpairing etc just with me and my wife. The idea of using in the hall with the whole staff gives me itchy fever.

You could get one of each and glue them to a 3.5mm to phono lead and then glue those into an audio switch, which you could then glue/screw to the cabinet. In an ideal world you could trust people not to "borrow" the leads...

Leave the 3.5mm audio lead. It's up to user to supply the adaptor required to interface their phone with the system, not the other way round!
