Guest Guest Posted August 9, 2019 Posted August 9, 2019 I'm currently in the process of upgrading to Windows 10. However none of our older machines which don't support UEFI will PXE boot from SCCM 1902. The process starts however part way through the process hangs and after a short delay I get error 0xc0000001 (A required device isn't connected or cant be accessed). The boot image contains the network and storage drivers for the machines with the issues, I've disabled "Enable Window Variable Extension" and I've adjusted RamDiskTFTPBlockSize and RamDiskTFTPWindowSize but nothing seems to work. Any help is greatly appreciated Thanks
Driftingforlife Posted August 9, 2019 Posted August 9, 2019 Only way round the botched update so far for me is using USB boot media.
Arthur Posted August 9, 2019 Posted August 9, 2019 Have you tried the other workarounds that Microsoft suggest in their KB article? https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/4512816/devices-that-start-up-using-preboot-execution-environment-pxe-images-f
Guest Guest Posted August 9, 2019 Posted August 9, 2019 That didn't make any difference. However enabling WDS-less mode on the distribution point has got it working for now but I can't use multicast
Arthur Posted August 9, 2019 Posted August 9, 2019 That didn't make any difference. WDS-less PXE boot was listed as a workaround in that KB article too. I should have been clearer.
