Primary School Server Replacement

I need to get three competitive quotes for a server replacement for a Primary school. I have two already but I was hoping someone on here could recommend any companies that could get me a quote quickly? I'm looking to replace an old Dell which has 8Gb of RAM and 2Tb of usable storage. Looking to virtualise on the new server with Hyper-V and split the roles into two VMs.

We got our last one from Serversource, they do refurb ones but meant we could go entirely ssd for storage and still save money compared with new.

Always get ours from Dell, your school will have an account manager that can give discounts over the online costs. Last time we got 47% discount but that was a few years ago.

What roles do you want to split, and why?

 

Ignore HP because they're evil and only give you updates if you pay for support.

 

lights out management licensing, how do others compare? Do they make you pay extra?

 

Where's the server going to be stored? Does it have a UPS? Tower or Rack? Does it need physical security because it's in a room where people have access?

TL;DR: Not HP.

 

I got our last few servers from Stone, which were cheaper than others at the time for new. If you don't mind refurbished, I would definitely contact ICT Direct.
