Recommended Website building apps to use with Students

Does anyone have any recommended website building apps to use with the Students. Our IT teacher has requested Mobirise, but I don't know much about it.

I've been pointing staff to use "office sway", it super easy and has cc images etc. They can use via o365 logins. save and share and edit all online like wix. templates like blog etc.

 

Great stuff and easy enough for teachers to oversee.

Mobirise looks interesting, as it's offline. It'll bug you to buy extensions of course.

 

Not heard of Google Web Designer before either.

 

Google Sites if you want simple, private, free, online.

 

Brackets if you want a code editor that's easy to deploy, MSI, yay.

 

Wordpress.org if you want to self host a CMS. Can get ldap login so use AD creds.

Hey, I've built my own website using wordpress having started with limited knowledge. Admittedly had a lot of help from a friend since then (Appliance Analysts). Anyway, just my 2c that Wordpress was fantastic to use as a starter. The different themes you can install make it super easy to 'get' how different websites are built. Switching between the different designs really helped me realize how many templates etc are used on the web. This may sound very simple to you, but as a newbie it made it easy for me.

 

An alternative I was recommended is Blogger - which is made by Google. It's much more straightforward, almost like a mobile app. But it's super easy for them to create little blogs and get started that way.
