LeMarchand Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Oooooh this is looking good... No, NO, NO!!! If you were a true fan, you'd be bleating about it looking like fan fiction, something something Jar Jar (Abrams), too dark, not enough exploration, blah, blah, blah. Get with the program!
synaesthesia Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 No, NO, NO!!! If you were a true fan, you'd be bleating about it looking like fan fiction, something something Jar Jar (Abrams), too dark, not enough exploration, blah, blah, blah. Get with the program! Butbutbut.... PICARD! DATA! 7OF9! OMGZ!
3s-gtech Posted July 21, 2019 Posted July 21, 2019 Will Hugh Jackman rock up and kebab some fools? Or have I got this all wrong?
FishCustard Posted July 22, 2019 Posted July 22, 2019 Seven of Nine will be in this?! And Data? This is looking better and better.
Rob_D Posted July 22, 2019 Posted July 22, 2019 Will Hugh Jackman rock up and kebab some fools? Or have I got this all wrong? It does have a rather "Logan" feel to it, although it might just be old Patrick Stewart and the earthy color pallet. synaesthesia[/color]]Oooooh this is looking good... It looks awesome (Apart from Seven's eye-piece which looks oddly low-budget compared to the rest of the trailer effects). However, the Discovery season 2 trailer looked great, while the actual season was decidedly "meh". New Trek trailers very well it would seem. Still tentatively excited for this.
synaesthesia Posted July 22, 2019 Posted July 22, 2019 To be fair, I've ignored everything Trek except the modern films - prior to that TNG was the only one I ever properly enjoyed, the TNG films, and to a lesser extend Voyager/DS9. Not a fan of Enterprise or Discovery but only watched one ep of each.
MartinT Posted July 22, 2019 Posted July 22, 2019 Discovery is superbly dark. Everything else bar TOS was a bit meh, especially DS9.
ICTDirect_Dave Posted July 22, 2019 Posted July 22, 2019 Beyond excited now! Riker and Deanna Troi showing up too by all accounts Discovery has been a superb reintroduction to Prime universe Trek, though I'm glad they're taking Season 3 somewhere new. Picard will give us a glimpse into the future post-Voyager which we've all been wanting for so long! Here's hoping that it's successful and we get a new series, with a new ship set in this era.
Rob_D Posted July 22, 2019 Posted July 22, 2019 I heard Franks will be directing for some episodes - didn't know he was staring as well. That's cool. The cynic in me says this is all just so CBS can put non-compete clauses in the their contracts to keep the main TNG cast (or as many star trek alum as possible) off the Orville.

That's one VERY Expensive way of going about it! I prefer to think that The Orville has shown them that there's a place for Trek on TV again.
MartinT Posted July 22, 2019 Posted July 22, 2019 I still have a problem forgiving Frakes for directing that disaster of a Thunderbirds film.
LeMarchand Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 I sense a great marketing tie-in with some enterprising vineyard... ...or even the already-existing Château Picard vineyard: https://startrekwines.com/ 1
