Hi All,

I have been tasked with getting 3 tablets for us IT Technicians to use at our school, but I'm a bit stumped on as what would be best to go for.

I have been set a budget of £100 - £200 for each tablet and I am stuck as to whether to go for an Android or Windows based device. We have decided between us that we are not going down the Apple route!

Just keen to find out what everyone else might have, any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

We toyed with the Nexus 7 when it was out. It was good (I still have one I brought myself and use it at home) but the screen was slightly too small. We brought a load for teachers and some when they were on offer for £160 but that was a few years after release, down from what was a £400+ tablet. So you're going to be hard-pressed to find one for that price range nowadays.

We ended up using our personal phones for a while which I never agreed with anyway and I stopped using it for that afterwards.

Yes, we are mainly going to be using them for monitoring our helpdesk and the odd bit of browsing here and there. Maybe even using them for remoting back to our machines or our tech server for quick access on the spot.

@mhaddock, not a bad shout. I'm looking for either 8 or 10 inch displays and maybe a detachable keyboard (2-in-1 style). I sometimes us my phone but it is a pain to have to connect to our network everytime I want to look as our helpdesk is not accessible externally.
