Data recovery flash drive

Hi

 

I have just had two staff come in today with broken usb drives. Does anyone know any free software that can recover the data. I have tried the freeware versions of the commercial stuf but it will only stop the files and will not recover anything.

I have just used a freeware program called "EASEUS" I found whilst looking for such things. D**ned if I can find out where it came from now but I guess if you google it you will find it. It even showed the deleted copies from each iteration when editing a word document.

The teacher concerned was most pleased

I know this doesn't answer your request for free software, but I can recommend Data Doctor Recovery - Pen Drive. I had to use it recently.

I've had staff bring several faulty pendrives this year - all of them pretty new. Is it a decline in quality, as my old 64Mb one is still working perfectly, or just rough handling?

 

It could be - the same thing happened to floppy disks. I've had floppies from the 1980's with my old degree projects on, still readable. Floppies bought in recent years (though it's been a while since I've had to use one) have been terrible. Write once, read once, and that's it.

 

The drive for low price sacrifices reliability.

We have used a nice little program called ADRC Data Recovery Tools. It has a few little handy features available.
